I feel this is a trial period and I also feel if they play soft, pleasant music ( hot hard rock/heavy metal) as they do inside the Centre then customer s will come back and be in a happier mood to shop (especially with any specials on).
So, is this a good thing for the community? Some will say 'Yes', and some will say No' and the rest may not care!
According to a busker at Mount Druitt, the music coming from Westfield Mount, speakers with music in Dawson Mall is destroying Busking. This is when the community is listening to buskers signing and the background music can be annoying. Joel says, "People really enjoy and like listening to live music compared to radio aired music."
Personally, I notice that if and when the the Westfield music is turned down, in volume and is not blaring, it can be soothing to listen too. Yet, when the music is is on and there is a busker singing along the mall, the nice live music with amplifiers can overpower the Westfield music, which can be heard failntly in the background.
Was the idea to shift these local musicians out of the area? I think not. I think it was to comfort shoppers along Westfield Mount Druitt's part of Dawson Mall. It is their right to do so externally, to also entice shoppers into their complex
What do you think? let us know. Is this music to your ears?
Do you think they should play Church/ religious music, classical or jazz?
