A Lady From Townsville That Needed Help - After I Asked about Blacktown City Council's Ward 4 & 5 Improvements

After I posted on 'whyilovemountdruitt' face book group the following:

"Does any one have any idea what are your main issues that you would like to see improved in Ward 4 and 5 of Blacktown City Council, within Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs?"

I shared this to 13 local Face Book groups within the area and received a response from 'I Climbed Mt Druitt And Survived' Face Book Group. It was the normal posting response, requesting help of a different kind:

Karen Harpur Id like to get my welfare records, the lot, from 22 years ago from the Blacktown Department of Community Services DOCS. I live in Far North Queensland and I have to pay for my information. There's a lot of organizations that I need to get records from. This is not only financially difficult, the stress and pressure it has put on me is huge. My ptsd from my childrens fathers is debilitating. I have had my money order for DOCS to release my information but it is still sitting in my purse. Im not confident I can deal with the information being sent to me as staggered as the money becomes available. I went to Aboriginal Medical Centre in Old Mt Druitt for help against the lies were being told. It is an indigenous case. If you would like more information or to contact me, my mobile is (deleted for privacy reasons) If you are unable to help me, a brief message through here would be very much appreciated. I grew up in Willmot. Im 48 years old. Thanking you kindly, Karen Harpur.

I suggested I would assist her by contacting local, state and Federal Councilors and Members of Parliament in our area to see, who could help. I emailed all Councilors of Ward 4 & 5, NSW State Member for Mount Druitt and Federal Member for Chifley, maybe I was excited and reacted in panic, to assist. I was then overwhelmed with her response:

Karen Harpur Jean-Francois Svoboda can you do that ? Oh my goodness. I have tears escaping. I would be ever so greatful. However they decide. They may be able to steer ne in the right direction. Its too big for me. There's something within me will not let this go, I cant let it go.
Humbled much. My soul thanks you Jean-Francois from the bottom of my heart

As I later found out, it is the lady's MSW DOCs issues which may be assisted with  by NSW Member for Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla or his office maybe able to assist her. I went in 7 different directions instead of 1, another lesson learnt.

So from here we will await for  any assistance, response given by Edmond Atalla and/or his office.

Further Info On Mysterious Interviewer At Mount Druitt Train Station - Was He A Scam?

So, serious concerns are being raised now after information provided to myself, by a Sydney Trains Mount Druitt spokesperson.

When I reflect on what I witnessed last week with the interviewer, what I was told by a Blacktown City Council Transport Spokesperson and finally, what I was told today, it is worrying me!

I was told today that 2 days before the male interviewer commenced his interviews/surveys on last Thursday week, he approached the Sydney Trains Mount Druitt spokesperson, showing a authentic/copy document from Blacktown City Council, allowing him to do interview.

This interviewer required and requested access to the below platforms and he was denied for 2 reasons: he refused to show his personal identification and Sydney Trains Mount Druitt, did not receive an email from their Head Office confirming any interviewer was coming from Blacktown City Council or from a private company.

Once they are informed of these people doing interviews or  handing out leaflets, they have to proceed with an induction process, allowing them access to platforms. Emails are always received (Sent by Head Office) if interviewers or a campaign is on by Opal before the event.

I have also sighted the Mount Druitt Train Station diary and there was 'NO' entry of interviewer added in the book for that day- I was advised it was a new Duty Manager on that day and the Sydney Trains Mount Druitt spokesperson will discuss and investigate this matter further. They normally keep a copy of the documents from Opal or any other interviewers and so far no copies of these types, were sighted, from this myster.

The interviewer was only allowed to stay between Station Masters office and the electronic ticketing machine.

After I advised that the interviewer was not representing Blacktown City Council, that I spoke to him  and was asking for commuters  under 49 years and requesting their phone numbers and names, the Sydney Trains Mount Druitt Spokesperson was shocked.

This is what is worrying myself, for the commuters that freely gave their details to this interviewer - the interviewer never gave a  business card or document explaining what the interview was about - all to me sounding suspicious. Added to this, is that the Blacktown City Council Transport Spokesperson advised his department knew nothing of any surveys they are conducting for under 50's, or on public transport.

I hope this is now further investigated and we get a response  from all relevant authorities for the benefit and to ensure that commuters provided details are not used for improper use.

Great Result From Blacktown City Council On Kelly Close, Mount Druitt - Needed Footpath

Well, as matters are raised matters can get resolved and that is what has happened with the man made pedestrian track. I sure that the  majority of our community think 'Nothing gets done, No one cares!"

Incorrect. Once an issue is raised with 'whyilovemountdruitt' blogspot/Face Book Group, there are Councillors emailing each other or even Council Officer starting from the General Manager. There are Council officers checking the validity of the issue,  researching and reporting seeking avenues of providing and reporting back to Council and to us, on behalf of the community.

The issues is then sorted into importance of funding set for 'Work Improvement Program' otherwise known as a 'WIP'. If the issue is a non issue, there maybe no reply, unless raised again or consideration is made. It depends also on the relevance of  how important is the issue(s) raised.

So we can report after having feed back from both Blacktown City Council and also Westfield Centre Management a resolution has been made to wait for funding the 'Work Improvement Program' man made pathway to be officially made with a concrete, also what was picked up was another improvement on Kelly Close pathway on the Eastern end as well, by Council Engineers.

We thank Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali, General Manager, Kerry Robinson, Council Engineers and Westfield Centre Management as well as a community member, who made a comment on the original post on our Face Book page and finally to the communities that read pour blogspot and shared on local Face Book pages, communities in and around Mount Druitt.

This is what can help other communities within and around Mount Druitt, if there is the same issues in their area.

Why Do Drivers park On The Wrong Side Of The Road?

I think it is careless if anyone parks on the wrong side of the road. Road rules are  be adhered too and  if you are a driver knowingly doing this then you need to have  Demerit points taken off.

My concern here is what if he was to drive off and some car is coming from the same way didn't notice he was parked on the right side of the road (which is wrong) and he didn't notice the car ( on his left side) - then all of a sudden an accident.

This person was scourging through rubbish - was it worth it?

Blacktown City Council - Transport Division - On The Go! - With Traffic Lights And An Extended Bridge

After speaking to a Blacktown City Council spokesperson today, there are  some new improvements coming on board on the drawing board.

They have heard that NSW Roads and Maritime Services is shortly going to work on the  Pedestrian Crossing access way on the eastern side of the traffic lights entrance to Westfield Mount Druitt. Click here for previous post.

Blacktown City Council have receive submission for a traffic lights to be installed at the corner of Kelly Close and Luxford Roads, Mount Druitt and also the Transport division has made recommendations to  NSW Roads And Maritime Services for a dual roadway on the Francis Road/ Railway Street and David overpass. The inhibiting fact is funding for the the dual overpass would cost $10M, which the NSW RMS is searching for - Click here for previous posts. Click here for previous post

Bill Shorten - Australian Labor Party Leader - Promotes Ed Husic To Shadow Ministry - Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard/Daily Telegraph

Although, the Liberal/ National Coalition Parties under the Leadership of Malcolm Turnbull won the Federal election by the slimmest of margins 76 seats to Labors 69 with 1 seat still in doubt, heading towards the Australian labor Party.

So now, Bill Shorten, leader of the opposition ran a strong campaign in the 2nd July 2016 Federal election and yet, did not win enough seats from the 'government of the day' to have a mandate. So in Opposition, again, Bill Shorten will have a stronger shadow ministry and with the inclusion of Ed Husic, Federal Member for Chifley as the Employment Services and Workplace Participation Shadow Minister.

We applaud our Federal Member for Chifley in going up the ladder, after his third term of being elected in to Federal Parliament. It is a credit to his stance in his electorate, that he represents a shadow ministry that is so vital in our community. Will it be in years to come he might reach the top of the ladder of Prime Minister? That is yet to be seen.

Mysterious Survey/Interviewer Representing Blacktown City Council At Mount Druitt Train Station

On last Thursday I  had watched how a certain person was choosing commuters for a  possible interviews as it seemed like. So I approached him and got a strange reaction.

So it is  was Blacktown City Council Representative interviewer - working on behalf a company called 'Micro...'. He was seeking confirmation and gathering of names and phone numbers from individual commuters, who are aged 49 years or under for a survey, for Blacktown City Council.

I'm trying to work out why a survey would be conducted by Blacktown City Council for a certain age group and exclude another age group as there are a mixture of commuters using public transport Sydney Trains to and from work in a mix of ages. He was very secret about what was the survey about.

I was aged if I'm over 50 years and when I immediately replied, 'Yes', I was told he didn't want me for this - and was told is a private survey and he wasn't interested in my self. Well being a  public transport enthusiast and advocate for  nearly 7 years, I asked what the survey was all about and he said, 'It is a secret and he is just gathering names and phone numbers' and went off his own way. Then he said Blacktown City Council will be council these commuters directly.

Speaking to a Mount Druitt Sydney Trains spokesperson, he had been their for hours on hours and been at Blacktown Train Station as well that day.

The strange this here that today, I spoke to a Blacktown City Council Transport spokesperson and  according to them, they are not running or conducting community surveys for public transport. It was stated they would contact local communities like myself  (as community advocate) and groups like ' Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc., first.  Also they reach out  to the community through their Annual  Public Transport Forum, which has been running for years and is a great asset to them.

So this makes me think is this person legally allowed to obtain phone numbers and names, at all. I'm sure we will hear from the relevant authorities on this topic.

Night Moon, Mount Druitt - How Is It?

Do we look  up in the sky at night and see how beautiful it is? Do we have the time to do it? And do you have time to do it? Most of the time I'm in my own little world, thinking of posts, commuting issues, ways of fixing up issues, what's happening today, tonight.

Giving the chance and opportunity, if we 'pop' our heads outside at night and look up into the dark sky and clouds, there is that moon that has different particular shining light. A light that doesn't use earthly electricity. A moon that by looking at it doesn't make you blind, yet makes you wonder how beautiful our life is and world's earth is.

The sky is not just completely dark  and our moon is what brightens our night. Here's a few pictures to brighten up your night or even day!

Mount Druitt Bus Interchange Installed With New Bus Time Tables Stand by NSW Transport

In Mount Druitt we have got new bus time stands being installed at Mount Druitt Bus Interchange, which is a small great improvement in our local area.

They look great, modern, they appear readable but at night time, they probably may require more light. As you can see in the dark below picture. In the relation to further improvements Bus Time Table improvements in the area, that the non-smoking signs on the back of the bus sheltered seats have been removed, at Mount Druitt Bus Interchange and temporary Bus Routes signs has been placed there on the back of the glass walled pannels.

Will this be removed and replaced with a permanent sign on the back of the seat, glass wall panel or will it remain as a permanent sign (I hope not), until bus commuters get used to these new signs. Also are these signs  at a too low height to read?

Under the Smoke Free Environment Act 2000*,  permanent signs must be displayed and regularly review, as per below sign example.

In relation to a second issue, will there new bus time table stands be supplied to every around Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs in Bus Region 1 area as not all  bus stops have these modern signs? maybe our State Member for Mount Druitt, Hon. Edmond Atalla and the NSW Minister for Transport may be able to investigate this and bring an update to the community through this blogspot.

Whalan's Laneway Root Problem Woes - Ron from Whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Page

Ron Vorbach's Profile PhotoRon from 'whyilovemountdruitt' Facebook Group, has at a majority of times have valid local community issues and important points that are raised which needs to be addressed by the relevant authorities, that can make that great change.

So, with the election coming up, we will see how this issue is Ward 5, of Blacktown City Council is being addressed by Councillors and  Officers of Council. Each response or non -response can be a vote or cost a vote.

Ron is a passionate member of our group and  has been the primary community,  exposing the  beauty of our  community to our community, though his nature  pictures and videos. Here he exposes a natural issue that is arising with growing trees. So here it is:

Back in April I tried sending these photos to Blacktown Council in the format and size they required but it would not load on their site. Since our present council has been in office this walk way has been 100% neglected. Tree roots are pushing up the bitumen, disposed needles, plus more rubbish of all types. As tempted as I am to clean up I remember the abuse I got in the past from council workers declaring I was putting them out of work and was not to touch in a very angry tone. That last part dates back a lot of years but the conflict still remains in my mind.

Curfew Pettion For New Airport - Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali - Supporters Required

Sometimes when something means meaningful to you and is important you or I will 'Join the Bandwagon' and that is something I can do on certain issues. Actually, I do on most but some I keep to myself , let the community decide and then I'll decide with how the community responds.

Here is an important petition that Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali has created as he is thinking not of himself of his constituents in Ward 4 and all people within Blacktown Local Government Area. I don't think he realises how he can move an opinion, thought of  something that is happening ans sway the  people to follow his leadership.

So  do you want planes flying 24 hours a day over your properties, when the airport is open? If you do you not  need to sign the petition - but if you do not then you do need to sign the petition, ask your face book friends to sign up, ask neighbours to sign up, families to sign up and even you friends to sign up. Spread the word so you  can enjoy a better lifestyle in area if there is a curfew.

I have signed up and  left my comments as I signed up. I was number 371, who will be next and we can make it more and more. Let us send a message to the appropriate authorities and support our Local Mayor.

"I believe although a major part of Sydney's population live in The West and outer west - people need the comfort of having ordinary peace and quite: families, businesses, churches, individual people need to sleep, have their rest and enjoy a quite peaceful life."

'Have Your Say' At Ropes Crossing - 'Badgery's Creek Airport' & 'Worlds Largest Incinerator' - Blacktown City Council

Today, I received an email from from Suzette Meade, on behalf of Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali invitation to the Mount Druitt and surrounding community on current major issues concerning our community on 'Western Sydney Badgerys Creek Airport' and 'A major Incinerator' that may have detrimental affects.

The one main thing I loved about this email (besides others) was the mention of importance of blog and social media. I hope you do so, as well. Here is the  copy of the email

My name is Suzette, and I work for Blacktown City Council.  We are holding community forums over western Sydney to allow community to have their say about the proposed changes to their quality of life with a new 24/7 airport which will be affected by the flight path and planes every 90 seconds as low as 2500ft.

We have scheduled a forum at Ropes Crossing Community Hub  on Saturday 30th July from 2pm - 4pm with a free sausage sizzle.

I would be very grateful could share this on your blog and social media  that Mayor Stephen Bali would like to welcome everyone along for a friendly discussion and information afternoon.
