Litter Bin Upgrades At Mount Druitt Train Station Platforms!

Yes, I got it wrong the other day about what upgrade we are getting at Mount Druitt Train Stations. The upgrades we got was new litter bins, which is obviously important in keeping the train station platforms clean.

What do you think of them? I think they were the same as before , but they get dirty pretty quickly and as these bins are permanently on the ground, they needed this essential upgrade.

We have received no information of these upgrades from any NSW State Members of Parliament and yet we always invite them for public comment/news on upgrades that have been provided within the community.  We hope to get more commitment from them  as time goes by!

Amazing Only 2 Kerb Corners Done Out of 4 - Mount Druitt!

Last Saturday I was walking past these group of work men  who were making improvements on the corner of Kelly Close and Buran Close, Mount Druitt. The improvements were to make the corners more accessible for wheel chair, prams and bicycles, to cross the intersection.

I thought this will be good as all the four corners would be provided with these accessible kerb improvements. Low and behold only funding and completion for 2 out 4 corners. Now to get the other 2 corners done, the decision process has to start again. Why didn't Blacktown City Council/ NSW Roads and Maritime Services do this - to my guessing to spend more money on applications and process. Maybe I am wrong! Oh by the way look at the mess they left behind, not even cleaned up!

See for yourself:

Dawson Mall Shops Are Continually Tagged With Graffiti - Stake Holders Need To Do Some About It!

With blogging, I sometimes have to report things that look bad, which is in a negative way  'Eye Catching'!

The issue is, if as a community we allow for this to happen it will continually happen. We need local, State and Federal local politicians to meet with NSW Police, Blacktown City Council Officers. shop owners and look at preventative measures allowing people to paint in public. It appears it must be done late night and early in the mornings. Just look at the graffiti itself:

Blacktown City Council Offers Free Microchipping Of Cats - Mount Druit-St Marys Standard/2770 Chat & Watch Face Book Group!

Deputy Mayor, Russ Dickens has got Blacktown City Council to agree to offering a free service of microchipping cats around our local government area. Here is the article I read on '2770 Chat & Watch, originally from Mount Druitt-St Marys Standard:

My suggestion for t Mount Druitt community members is contact Blacktown City Council on 02 98396000 8.30am-5pm Monday to Fridays.

Monorail From Sydney, Parramtta, Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Penrith, Could This Happen? - 'Whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Group!

Yes, it isn't something that all of us in Mount Druitt is thinking of and could imagine of but just imagine...... imagine it could happen....! It may not be in public transport stakeholders minds. What Blacktown, what Mount Druitt and what as far as Penrith?

In fact we are forgetting that the Badgery's Creek International Airport ( Sydney's 2nd International Airport), is coming up in the not too far distant time, then this may change our own thoughts and maybe the public transport stakeholders own minds as they plan for the future. All this is pending environmental impact studies!

So Ron, one of my favourite authors of posts, 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Group has got a love short video on the old 'Sydney Monorail' and explores our minds to see if we would like Monorail services from City to Penrith via Parramatta, Blacktown and Mount Druitt! Imagine 5 minute services - how would that be?

"Just let your imagination drift ,Think of how the Mono Rail would have looked traveling Parramatta to Penrith including Mount Druitt on its stops to. The added view it would generate. The added tourism it would have attracted. A suitable alternative viable transport choice for all those whom become stranded during train time table disruptions . Pollution free, very little land required. Does not block traffic or cut streets or towns in half. Requires no building of overhead bridges. A quiet form of transport. Maybe, all the connecting councils should pool their thoughts and funds together and look to the future. We would all be winners."

We do suggest that Blacktown City Council Transport planners, add this to the Blacktown City Council Management Plan .

Service NSW Is Coming To Mount Druitt Replacing RMS Mount Druitt - Liccences Will Be Issued Differently

Some of you may be aware that eventually our former NSW Department of Motor Registry, now NSW Roads and Maritime Services and later to be called, 'Service NSW'. This new NSW Department will be covering a lot of NSW Government Departments directly to the public.

One of the services that will change is the issuing of licenses. Yet I find the change that will happen, may be prone to wide risks of fraud.

Image result for NSW RMSAt present with NSW RMS, one you are identified, signed application and after your photo is taken, you currently wait for your printed official licence to  be issued to you. Here, the customer service representative identifies you as you pick up your licence. This is very critical in reducing/eliminating possible fraud.

With the new set up under Service First, after the photo is taken, your official licence will be posted to you within 5 days and you will be issued with a temporary, non photo licence. People will be able to pinch/rob the mail with the licence and use it for potential fraud.  Speaking to a spokesperson from the NSW Government, this process is to reduce the current  fraud they have! What do you think

Here is the feed back form that I provided to the Mount Druitt RMS, maybe you can understand what I mean!

Check here - The Motor Registry sign is still advertising in Mount Druitt, funny that:

Opal Card Top Up Machine At Mount Druitt Train Station Concourse!

No one has advertised this locally, that is Mount Druitt has 'Opal Card Topping Up Machines' are available, to top up Opal Cards.

Image result for opal card machines
What does this mean, is that commuters don't have to run to an 'Opal Retailer' and even find one. Pay and go! This increases the opportunities to top up your 'Opal Card', great for many people!

My personal issue is that I'm am always afraid of new technology breaking down. What happens when you have just placed $50.00 to top up your 'Opal Card' but as your money is chewed up, whilst machine malfunctions, it might lose your cash. So I will still top up at a recognised retailer!

Mount Druitt Train Station Platforms - Seems Like Is Getting Opal Card Machine Upgrade!

I have noticed within the last week that Mount Druitt train station may be getting Opal Machine upgrades on platforms 1 to 2 and platforms 3 to 4.

Image result for opal card machinesWe do have Opal Card machines on the barrier entry and exists in the concourse area of Mount Druitt Train Station. Although, we have discussed  relieving and reducing the peak time queues Click here , it appears that another option may become (to me) on its way to us, providing further improvements . Opal Card Machines that are freely accessible on platforms, can ease the delay of going though barriers. Then you wouldn't need barriers like Rooty Hill doesn't have! What do you think? Look at the following pictures! Is  something else happening? Can our State Members for Mount Druitt, Londonderry and Mulgoa tell us what is happening?
