Yesterdays Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group
Meeting held yesterday, was attended by guest Olivia Lloyd, Liberal
Candidate for Mount Druitt, for the oncoming NSW State Election, to be
held on 28th March 2015.
On of the issues raised is that because of the local
newspapers going electronically digital in the last few years, there is
less delivery of the news papers to quite a few suburbs. It appears
after speaking to a Sales Representative on that local newspaper this is
what is happening.
The reason why this is important is for people to read vital important local news, community improvements as well as activities and Local Council information.
We
ask that local Newspapers if unable to deliver newspapers to all
suburbs, for what ever purpose, that they be made available at all local
community shopping centers. This is placed at a central location that
can be pick up by the community, when shopping and they community is
advised.
Discussions
were raised of the Group Free Shuttle Bus petitions and the amps that
the group had sent to Minister Of Transport, last year, were actually
hand-delivered to Gladys by Bernard Bratusa, Liberal Candidate of
Londonderry and Olivia Lloyd, Liberal Candidate for Mount Druitt, two
weeks ago.
Also
raised was the Standard's Meet the Mount Druitt candidates held a few
weeks ago, where three out 4 candidates stated they attended the Mont
Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc meetings and were would work with
group to resolve public transport issues. This was a good result for
the group!
Other local bus and transport issues were raised and the meeting resolved many matters that need to be looked into the future.
