At the last Federal election Phillip (we we call his surname Joy) from Mount Druitt went to a polling booth in Mount Druitt
to vote and got his name marked off. His mother (we will say his Pauline Joy) went to a polling booth in Blacktown and got her name marked off the roll there.
So after a few weeks one of them received a letter from the electoral Commission that they voted twice and the other received a letter saying they didn't vote. They both contacted the Electoral Commission and found out that there was an error-the same name was crossed off the rolls incorrectly by one of the Polling Clerks. I believe that Phillip didn't witness the crossing of his name.
So from this we learn hat watching the Polling Clerk crossing your name but be witnessed by yourself! So please do this to prevent any fines to be sent to you!
