Can Tabs To Motorised Wheel Chairs - Oxley Park Community Member!

As you read the heading, you are probably saying, 'What is he on about?'

Well, what I on about is about a lady that was originally from Penrith, recently moved to Oxley Park and she told myself what voluntary work she does, I was really intrigued and stunned.

Can Tabs shown by Heather from Oxley Park
Heather from Oxley Park simply collects 80,000 'Can Tabs' from local parks, train stations and public visible areas (but doesn't go through rubbish bins). Over a long period of time she has collected over 200,000,000 of them. What does she do with them? She takes the collected 80,000 Can Tabs and brings them to a meeting of *View Club Penith, and donates these Can Tabs so that a motorised wheel chair can be manufactured, and thus be provided to a recipient, pays for the motorised wheel chair for $100.00. The normal cost for one of these is  $5,000-$6,000, so for paying $100.00 the rest of it is subsidised by the wheelchair manufacturer.

Whilst we were talking, a man listening to our conversation said, 'There's a bloke at the local pub he has 200,000 of those at home! Heather suggested he  drops over the View Club Penrith, so that more motorised wheelchairs can be provided to the needy.

I find Heather to be a Legend of the West! By Heather doing this she is also providing a cleaner environment as well as caring about about the people that have a disability and need a wheel chair to assist with their life.  If you want to do the same as Heather, here are the details of the View Club in Penrith:View Club Click here .
They meet every 3rd Monday night at Panthers Club in Penrith at 7pm.

*View Club Stands for Violence Interests and Education of Women

NB: I think Blacktown City Council should look into promoting this within the  Blacktown Local Government Area and encourage community members to do the same, or get in touch with the View Club for assistance.
