Mount Druitt Gets Correct Pedestrian Crossing At Luxford Road, North Mount Druitt - Lone Advocacy Works

It is with great emotion that I would like to advise our community, that NSW, Local governments and private companies can work hand in hand when there is a lone voice in the community that advocates for certain community improvements.

The lone lobbying and advocating for a pedestrian access way/ crossing on Luxford Road, North Mount Druitt (eastern side) was welcomed warmly by Council Officers and Blacktown City Councillors as well as State Members for Mount Druitt,
Hon. Edmond Atalla and retired State Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery.

My original lobbying started on 27th February 2014 ( just over 4 years and  three months) Click here for original post on 27/2/2014

One thing I also do is never give up. By not giving up results may happen and having the patience to do so, can lead to changes, once support is seeked by the relevant authorities.  Click here for last post published 6/6/2018

Thank you to our  community of people that I have spoken for
that requested the pedestrian access/crossing and thought it could never happen. In the past Mount Druitt may have been a place ignored for improvement, but that is changing due to local politicians and advocate raising issues that need to be resolved and working with the community in making these important relevant changes.

Now the community cannnot be charged for jay walking, now they have a propper pedestrian access/crossing. I personally would like to thank Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali, all other past and present Councillors and Transport Council officers, as well as Hon. Edmond Atalla, State Member of Mount Druitt and retired State Member of Mount Druitt, Richard Amery and finally manager of Westfielfd, Mount Druitt who have worked with Blacktowm City Council to get a crossing approved, making it that much safer for the communitty.

FYI there is a crossway for them to use, most of them just cant be bothered to walk 2 metres and make 2 cross way at the lights. So with your contact saying that now can stop being fined all they had to do was go to the next light pole. Why do you think their getting fined for its not because they crossed the road, Its because they crossed at an innersection where there is crossing within metres of a safe means to do so.
