Great River Walk - Nepean - Great For Everyone To Relax and Breathe - For Everone Within And Surrounding Mount Druitt

Sometimes we wonder what we can do to enjoy ourselves after a stressful week at work or looking after children. We tend to think of  a best place to rest our minds or provide time to empty our head space: that could be at home.

That could be said as being true and some people do use quiet time at home to think things out and then have a clear mind. Other ways are going for walks out in your community, reaching your local community park and where there is fresh air breathe in and out, getting that exercise you need.

What we don't know of our wider back yard is that there is so much beauty that we haven't discovered. I wonder if you know how much beauty is in our wider back yard.

Our local parks and reserves are natural places for relaxing, running, walking and keeping our mind at peace. We  are lucky that  we have many parks and reserves that cater to our keeping our lives at  a healthy well being.

A majority of our youths can be seen getting fit at local gyms as they are looking after their well being. So although, we live in Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs, sometimes we need to explore our wider outdoors. Something I have been doing of recent and phave pride in doing it.

Today, I have experienced a beautiful walkway alongside Nepean river, which we receive water from Warragamba Dam encatchment area (further down stream). It is a glorious walk that makes you see different parts of Nepean River, especially scenic landscapes and hundreds of ducks gathered and swiming graciously alomg a long stretch of water.

Sighting the place that Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson crossed over the Nepean River to reach the other bankside, is a very historical place and  has a special story behind it.  It is an important part of our early Australian  history. Now I understand how they crossed Nepean River - I was always wondering how they crossed on the deep end and I was wrong.

I really compliment neighbouring Penrith City Council, offering walks like this along our natural Australian bushland. You don't have to go far to enjoy this atmosphere, breathe the natural air and walk in harmony with the bushland mucic of our  natural Australian birds.

You will find a weir further down the path, set back amongst a flowing torrent of the Nepean River and if you pick a good day, in the afternoon a crystal clear sun shining on the ripples of water. There are little creeks running off Neapan River - that we all never thought would be there. Some people go finishing in this places. Fishing enthusiasts can come from all ages, especilly this expert from  outside Penrith area.

The entrance is first right after the corner of Great Western Highway an Castlereagh Road, Penrith, just past the Penrith Rowers club. There is ample room for parking and it would be quite a good walk if you are arriving at Penrith train station.  Let's hope you take the time to your our very own natural  bushalnd beauty not far from our very own  wide back yard.
