Sydney Alliance - Local Housing Action Training, Saturday Jume 16th

t's cold and wet in Sydney this week. Let this spark your fire! Sydney Alliance is not a charity. The Alliance builds power to win. Power that comes from people. Power that comes from cooperation. Power that comes from organisation. Power for a just city for all our children, elders, neighbours and fellow Sydneysiders. Let's continue to build power for affordable and stable homes: in your local area, with real impact for your neighbourhood. Three weeks ago we sent out an email about our Alliance training on Saturday 16th 9:30am-2pm at St Stephen's Uniting Church in the city. This is a reminder to register. So far we have citizen leaders registered for the 16th from these council areas: What about you? Your area? 1 Bayside Council 3 Blacktown City Council 2 Campbelltown City Council 1 Canterbury Bankstown Council 1 Central Coast Council 1 Cumberland Council 2 Hornsby, The Council of the Shire of 4 Inner West Council 1 Lane Cove Municipal Council 3 Parramatta Council, City of 1 Penrith City Council 1 Randwick City Council 1 Ryde, Council of the City of 5 Sydney, Council of the City of 1 Willoughby City Council Together with you, Vinnies NSW and the Sydney Alliance partners we are putting together local teams to motivate local councils and convince local MPs in the lead up to the NSW election to act on affordable and stable housing: On that empty lot that could be used for emergency housing… On that huge new development that doesn’t include any affordable homes… To join the campaign for fairer renter laws in NSW and end unfair evictions... To get a real % of affordable and stable housing across the whole council and city.  Here's how to be part: Step 1: Sign up, Get trained and briefed about the campaign, together at the Going Local - Affordable & Secure Housing Campaign Briefing, Coordination and Training Session, Saturday, June 16th in the CBD 9:30am-2pm. REGISTER Step 2: Bring together local leaders into a team Step 3: Run a local community assembly in your part of Sydney that gets results from Local MPs and Local Councils. Step 4: Come back together in December to evaluate, celebrate and plan our next steps, bigger and bolder than ever!
