Chifley College Short Changed by $5.9M - By Both Australian & State Governments - 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Group

Here is one of our favourite Face Book members that is  always thinking of the needy. The needy in this case is our community's children, where we are actually investing in their future in  important education.

Yes there has been advances in the creating of a Chifley College, based on a published an article that was published on 8th January 1997, based on 1996 HSC Results of Mount Druitt High School, titled 'The Class We Failed'. Click here for Wikipedia details on parts of this article

There were many basic changes, that occurred as a result of this article: individually, it had emotionally affected the High School children that showed their Year 12 photograph. This sent shock waves to their  parents, families, High School Teachers, to our NSW Education system, as well as all local politicians  and throughout our community.

The good change was all of a sudden an influx of funds arriving from State and Federal Governments creating 'Chifley College Campus'  Secondary Educational system, providing more opportunities for our children to be successful with results and in return, better job opportunities.

So here is the article posted by our  Face Book  member Ron, in relation to cuts to our Chifley College from both Australian and NSW Governments:

Well , according to the 9 news yesterday afternoon. Chifley College has been short changed by $5.9 million . Be it federal or state , Mount Druitt is being placed at the bottom of all the government spending. It is dollars, it is your suburb, time to voice out alas your children will suffer in years to come. What are our local members doing ? State or Federal ? Come on, Mount Druitt deserves better.

From this, it seems we may need to have our Blacktown City Council Mayor, Stephen Bali,  Blacktown City Councillors, NSW State Member for Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla and Federal Member for Chifley, Ed Husic, send voices back to these governments, of dissatisfaction on this issue. We hope that they can ensure more funding for our Chifley College Secondary school system, so that our investment in our community's children future continues, is still working successfully and doesn't fall behind.  If we do not provide the right investment to educate our children, their opportunities for success in education and  life, may diminish. That is one thing we do not want to ever happen again.
