Eight Jousters Have been warming up at Nurragingy Reserve this yesterday for the International Jousting Championships to be held tomorrow at Blacktown Medieval Fayre.
The Fayre is the largest free medieval event in NSW and attracts around 80,000 people over the weekend. It is also a pictorial paradise.
Champion jouster Rod Walker, from Bathurst, who will be taking part in the international jousting competition as a full tilt jouster will be one of those on hand today.
A timber mill worker during the week, on his days off, he’s a medieval warrior, swinging mighty swords and doing battles in the Crusades.
He has been jousting for some 20 years and has the wounds to prove it.
