Blacktown City Council Budget - Community Consultation 2017-2018 (Part 1)

Last night, I attended the Blacktown City Council Budget night - Community Consultation for the Budget of 2017-1018, which was held  for the  first time at Hoyts number 7 Cinema.

Blacktown City Council's expenditure budget is rock solid high $610M, delivering their vision, working towards a vibrant and inclusive community, a clean and sustainable environment, a smart and prosperous economy, a growing city supported by infrastructure, a sport and active city and a leading city as well as a "Sporting City'.

Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali  has a tough job to get this budget balance working towards a estimated population of 522,000 by the year 2036. The Budget has been completed by covering operational expenses in a growing city.

Major infrastructure looking to proceed ahead is with an University Campus Hub  ithin the redevelopment of  Warwick Lane Blacktown, Blacktown International Sports Park: accommodating for Western Sydney Wanderers, an athletics track, cricket,  AFL: Western Sydney Giants and base ball. This will become an international centre for training  excellence.

Animal Rehoming process to Glendenning. This budget has been transforming the city by servicing  backlogs of ' Works In Process' don from $80M over a few years ago to $32M. With Blacktown City's  economy $14.2B larger than 87 nations around the road.

With Blacktown City Council forecast population of 350,288 Click here for details, more money is needed to be pooled into the area  to provide new infrastructure for new suburbs in the North West growth centre and around the Sydney Business Centre. So, we are lucky that a majority of the revenue is coming from developers to pay for the new infrastructure.

Wayne Swan, former Federal Treasurer and Deputy Federal Leader, Wayne Swan was guest Speaker stating that Blacktown City Council's budget is a budget has realistic plane and ambitious, which is the future business  grasp of economic budgets.

What I found about this budget is it covers rhe policies that are needed to care for our chikdren's early education  and tertiory education. Investment for our youth giving them more opportunity for working success.

Another factor is establishing new communities, whilst ensuring the right infrastructure is support with State and Federal governments. At present, there is a funding shortfall from both NSW State and Australian governments to Blacktown City Council of $22M.

Whilst we  have growing communities. Which means more working and business rax payers, more consid we ation can be provided from  State and Federal Governments.

The 200 or more community members that turned up last night would have been delighted in budget surpluses 20 years running and The Mayor an his Councillors should be proud of this as I am. I"m living in the right City.
