Australian Government Lower House Representatives - Are They Really Well Representing Their Population Against Other Countries?

Interesting facts of  Lower Houses from a few chosen countries and it is interesting where Australia fits with 'proper representation' in respect to current population. What do you each each elected representative well representing our communities. Do we need to raise  our  number of elected lower house representatives?

Indian Parliament has 245 members in the lower house with a population of 1,327,241,971 - make each member look after  approximately 5,417,314 people.

Chinese population 2016 - 1,382,323,332 in 2016 and 2,987 members in the Chinese Congress. Each member of the Chinese Congress is looking after approximately 462,779 people


Russia has population of 143,349,352 and 450 members of the Lower House, That each member  represents approximately 1,007,443 people.

UK Parliament has  650 members in the House of commons current population in UK is 65,122,277, which means 1 member of the house of commons looks after 95,572 people.

Australian has a population of 28,885,192, with 150 lower House members. That means 1 representative looks after approximately 197,567 population

Samoan Population 190,372 (2013) , with 50 members of Parliament, which means 1 representative for 3,807 people approximately.
