Tennants May Not Know Their Rights With Landlords Possible Neglect To Maintain Rental Property In Proper Living State!

Whilst the NSW  Rental Bond Board is thought to be a owners support for non-paying renters or financially strapped renters trying to claim on their bond money, it is just not one sided, as soon as they have vacated their property, after giving notice.

No one wants a property to  be left like this!
With a high number of new tenants entering the rental market in the last couple of years, it is increasingly known that all don't read their contracts. In this younger generation that uses internet technology with different forms of social media, I'm astounded that these tenants may not know their tenancy right rights, if their rental property is not well maintained. Property maintenance not caused by tenants, need to be dealt with immediately.

If you are a tenant you are allowed to live in a property, in a reasonable state that is well maintained and no maintenance costs should be burdened by yourself, unless caused by yourself. This is after speaking to a property investor around the area.

A good home owner will make sure that all requests are looked into and any reasonable repairs and replacements are attended too.
A bad home owner will neglect any improvements ask for and only accept the rental income, less real estate agency fees and wipe their hands clean.

The NSW Fair Trading will assist you in resolving any tenancy complaints and have it lodged via the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Editors Notes: I have raised this issue so because of an lady that has similar issues within Mount Druitt and didn't know her rights. If you lodge a complaint, you can apply for your rent to be reduced directly to the agent, until matter is resolved.
