We Hope Blacktown City Council Keeps Australia Day as 'Australia Day' For All Australians

I understand that since the white man's discovery of Australia in New Holland now called 'New South Wales', that is traditional to celebrate 'Australia Day' that we can call our own.

A day where we remember our personal beginings. A day that we wholeheartedly celebrate our country's history and origins. A day where we can all be proud of ourselves, who we are, where we are, everything of our great and where we came from.

So, as we reflect on this special day as we meet other Australians for good memmories as we cherish the the good, bad and harsh times of past. We always appreciate our one day of the year that we call our own day.

Now we have 2 Victorian local Government Councils that want to rid this special celebration event day - this is just not being Australian. When  Australian communities of people come together, met together, watch Australian  bands entertain, kids go on umteen rides andthen there is the local governments fireworks display.

The idea of getting rid of  'Australia Day' may be coming from within our indigenous people, who think of it as invasion day of  'white people'.  Australia Day is a celebration day for all Australians, no matter what race, colour, age or creed.

In the australiaday.com.au website talks how we all celebrate the survival of our indigenous people:

The date of 26 January is part of history for all Australians. It marks the survival of our Indigenous people, our convict heritage, and the enriching of contemporary Australian culture by the millions of people who have since called this country home. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations had change forced upon them with the coming of European laws, values and social constructs. Many see this day as a time to discuss issues affecting our national identity – it can be valuable for people to engage with Australia Day and add meaning in their own way.
