First Response From NSW Member for Mount Druitt Attends to Hole In The Fence, Mount Druitt Bus Interchange!

It is with great pleasure to announce that the NSW Member for Mount Druitt, Councillor Edmond Atalla has responded to the first item of improvement, since his election this year. I thank him and his staff for doing so and hope there will be many more to come!

Public transport is  one of the issues that I know he is passionate about, maybe even more than myself (as I have been for the past 6 years). As a qualified engineer he would be in the forefront to ensure that improvements are made and maintained with public transport and its infrastructure.

Previously, I mentioned of a hole in the fence ( blog published 16/9/15) and raised awareness of this issue that if not rectified, it makes Mount Druitt Bus Interchange not up to standard. What I didn't realise it is our own community that is damaging this fence, Whereas I thought it was caused by buses having an extreme accident!

The issue we now face in relation to this incident is leaving stake holders more action then just reviewing 'on a regular basis'. What is immediately needed, which could be a less costly effect then spending thousands of dollars on repairs is organising 24 hour patrols either through NSW Police and or private security guards, to reduce the effect and hopefully catch the culprits. This in itself, would send a message to the wider community, that will protect our Mount Druitt Bus Interchnage from careless damage!

Furthermore there are 24 hour video cameras that could identify who the culprits are - this should be referred to the NSW Police immediately for an investigative response.

Here is the response from our State Member from Mount Druitt:
