The Difficulty With Groups Of School Children In Mount Druitt Purchasing Tickets!

It was reported to myself by a Sydney Trains spokesperson that a lady representing a local school within Mount Druitt recently contacted  the staff of the Mount Druitt train station, asking how 120 school children (going on a school excursion) can purchase tickets easily?

If multiple amounts of school students children like a 120 want to purchase 120 train tickets, a hand written receipt can be provided by the Sydney Trains Mount Druitt staff to the school officials call a GPT (General Purpose
General Purpose Ticket Book
Ticket) receipt, which excludes schools from paying government tax. This has to be notified to the Station staff before the event, to make it easier.

The  Multiple ticket issuing machine (for one transaction) at St  Marys train station  has been removed as advised by Warren from St Clair and the same has been done in Mount Druitt, leaving individual ticketing machines available for purchasing. I was advised by Warren that at St Marys train station  it took a lot of time for 12 school students to purchase 12 individual tickets and it was time consuming, making other commuters wait.

Just imagine if 120 school students were queuing at Mount Druitt ticket vending machines and commuters were impatiently waiting for their individual purchase of tickets - it would take 10 time more then the 12 school children at St Marys train station.

Maybe our State Member for Mount Druitt, Councillor Edmond Atalla will look into this with Opal as ticketing machines we have do not cater for multiple tickets on one transaction!
