Blacktown City Council 'The Sporting City' 2016 Community Calendar - Great Incentive!

I am so pleased we have a Mayor that is focusing into sports/fitness for the entire Blacktown Local Government Area,  which includes Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs.
 
Image result for blacktown logoThe official Blacktown City Council, 'The Sporting City', 2016  Community Calendar has been thought of and published in a true positive reflection of the people of the area.

On the 2nd page is the Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali's Message, Council Meeting information, committees and contact details.

On the 3rd Page there details of each Ward Councillor: names and contact details.

Then we start with Month of January, where there is a description on the local Blacktown Baseball teams. February talks about Special Olympics Australia and Blacktown City High Achievers. March discusses Rugby League and promotion of as well as all the rugby league grounds in our area. April provides information on Netball and the netball courts around Blacktown. May is all about Australian Football League (AFL) and talks about our GWS Giants - Greater Western Sydney 'Giants'. June is all about tennis and tennis courts in our area. July is about the Westlink M7 Blacktown City Running Festival on 31/7. August is the Blacktown City Family Sportsfest: trying out different sports. September is Football, local high achiever and Football in Blacktown City. October is Cricket, home grown talent and cricket pitches at our area. November is all about Swimming, leisure and aquatic facilities in Blacktown City. December is all about Little Athletics, join your local club, grounds and tracks in our area.

There are historical, holidays, school terms also added to the calendar. Talk about historical features, there is a full page on an Honour Roll, History of Blacktown City, Statistics, City Events, United National International Days of Observance, Community Information and Blacktown Hall of Fame.

So to all involved, I would like to Thank Council Officers, Mayor and any Councillors involved in getting this out to the community, if you do not have one, contact Blacktown City Council on  02 9839 6000. I would even go further and ask Council to show the calendar on the big screen (page by page) on 26th January 2016, at The Rooty Hill, a few times during breaks, promoting 'The Sporting City'!

I'm going to get one of these... my husband is on the high achievers page! He's the sprinter in white. We only found out today that he's in it!
