Change of Blacktown Name Is Now Back On Council's Agenda!

A few  months ago, we reported of a potential change of name for Blacktown City Council, which was passed to hold a General Referendum on the same day of the Council elections next year.

Mayor, Councillor Stephen Bali's Mayoral notes in the local papers advise of community meeting to hear both sides of the proposal:

This maybe a smaller cost for Council to hold compared to holding a referendum - I think and what ever the feedback is - if there appears to be a 'No' feeling - do not pursue it. If it a 'Yes' feeling pursue it!

My gut feeling is, it will not go ahead!
