Casual Bus Drivers Fighting For Jobs - Busways Mount Druitt - We May Need More Bus Services Now!

It is a strong rumor by a public transport spokesperson that whilst there there are plenty of full-time bus drivers employed by Busways in NSW Bus Region 1, which is good.

Now, the trend is to employ casual bus drivers and as they do have an oversupply of bus drivers, the issue is now the casual bus drivers are not getting the full time hours required to survive with the less hours of shifts available.  My understanding is that there is a fight for getting more shifts.

So how does this affect Busways, more profit possibly as casual bus drivers may not be getting paid for and annual leave, sick leave and any other awards provided to full-time employees compared to casual employees. On the commuter side, if there is any costs benefits obtained by the hiring of bus drivers, this is not provided to the community by more early morning and late night bus services provided especially on weekends, and weekdays!
