Thank You: Community Members of Mount Druitt, Surrounding Suburbs & Stake Holders 2018 Final Figures

'whyilovemountdruitt', this year has had a strong steady year with posting community events, promoting free advertising to local businesses, Blacktown City Council 'Media Releases', all which notifies and updates all of our local community with local issues/events that we need to know about. We are the 'Electronic Social Board/ Media of the area' showing how people advocate for our area, for the right issues. We send a message out to our community that is clearly heard and maybe 'Dinner Table Talk' and then get involved.

It was a non-election year thus making us sit back and think of what is needed to make Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs a better place to live and work in or even just be proud of where we live.

We had 399 published posts throughout the 2018 year, averaging at over 33 posts per month, with 48,805 visits averaging at just over 4,067 visits per month. August had record visits of 10,783. We also had a total of 25 comments averaging at nearly 2 comments per month. This was a solid year compared to 2017 Statistics (below) but we shave an audience that has stayed with us ever since our blogspot was created on 19th February 2014. I am also hearing people associating myself with 'whyilovemountdruitt' blogspot and Face Book Group creator and take that as my own satisfaction of what I am doing as one of many advocates of the area.

I am also proud that we have reached over 200,00 visits since our blogspot has been created and ended on total visits of 215,656

Whilst we have a Face Book Page and it has the largest Face Book Membership in the area, our membership has grown past 300 members, which was my goal for the end of year. We have now got 324 members that regularly read, share, publish posts and  contribute discussions through comments, whilst caring and respecting each other as a member. My goal would be  400 members by 31st December 2019,  but that is up to all of you to work together and  refer members living within our local community  to join our Face Book Page up and become active readers, publishers of posts and sharers of the post.

On that note, I would like to thank Carol Murray from Carol Murray's School of Dance and Ritesh Duggal (Ray) from Telechoice, Westfield Mount Druitt as local business promoting their local business (free of charge: and double on weekends) straight on as publish posts on our Face Book Page. This is the idea for local businesses to take on the initiative and posts adverts for your own local business. This is a start in the right direction for them but some struggle not understanding how social works or they don't have the time to do so. Other business  members of our Face Book Page can advertise  as long as it is for the good of the community.

As one Administrator of our Face Book page, I take pride that there is no abuse or rudeness in discussing issues or concerns of the community. We have about 14-16 Face Book groups we share important posts too and thus this creates more of an alertness to more community members. Social media is the main voice of our website/blogspot and the very best way a community can be heard.

I personally would like to thank my co-administrators: Kerri, Ron and David for joining in and making Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs a great place to live in.

I also would like to thank all stake holders (and they know who they are): politicians, community members government officials and the rest of you for  keeping in contact with 'whyilovemountdruitt'. Hope this year is a great year for all in 2019.
