Mount Druitt Train Station Recognised For Increased Commuter Rate In the Concourse Area!

I  have discussed in the past, on behalf of the people and commuters of Mount Druitt  how there is overcrowding issues on platforms and PM in the concourse area at Mount Druitt train station. A Sydney Trains Representative has advised that the local Management of the Sydney Trains are looking at increasing the d electronic ticketing system gates by two. By doing this the small Sydney Trains information office would be moved back close towards the ticketing office at Mount Druitt train station. The other new one would  be on the side of the time tables, where there is a small fence. This could relieve commuter congestion for a temporary time until there is a further station upgrade and/or improvement to cater for the growing commuter community.

What do you think? Is this a good idea, what is your suggestion? Maybe we might receive a response from NSW Member for Mount Druitt, Edmond Atalla? Feed back would be appreciated.

The overcrowding can lead to quite dangerous situations - people end up waiting on the stairs with people below trying to get up. The pushing and shoving can lead to falls and injuries.

I find it takes more time to get out of the station now we are all using Opal cards than when we had paper tickets - there was nowhere near the holdup getting out of the gates prior to Opal coming into general use (I've been catching the train every day for the last 20+ years, so I have a lot of history to compare it too.

And try merging into the crowd if you're coming out of the lifts. Absolutely hopeless.
