Blacktown City Council has provided sporting clubs and associations with free access to a mentoring and development service that provides them with strategic advice and administrative training.

All sporting clubs in the council area will have free access to the on line development program, provided by the sporting clubs development consultant “Sports Community”.

“Helping our clubs improve the way they do things is part of what we do in a sporting city,” said the Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Stephen Bali.

“Sports Community provides online, accessible, clear and simple training programs to help clubs, teams and associations perform at a higher level.

“Under the partnership, Blacktown City Council is providing all sporting groups in the council area free access to Sports Community’s “Club Spot” online resource.

Every club in the Blacktown Council area, regardless of size or sport, can take advantage of this service,” Mayor Bali said.
“Club Spot” provides printable tools, resources, templates and checklists that cover all areas of club administration - from governance to fundraising, online communication to volunteering and position descriptions for all roles, Sports Community managing director Steve Pallas said
“As well as the training and resources, clubs also receive monthly emails to support and guide them through all the important tasks that need to be completed during that specific time of the season.

“We also provide easy to follow checklists to ensure no job is missed and each task is linked to the best resource available in the country to help your clubs complete their tasks.

“We would like to thank Blacktown City Council for their proactive commitment and passion towards growing and supporting community sport in their region.
“Clubs in the region should look out for an email from Sports Community in the coming few weeks with registration details, all provided free by your council.
“If you are a Blacktown area sporting club and you do not get an email, make sure you contact Blacktown City Council to register,” Mr Pallas said.
Any sporting club in the Blacktown LGA wanting to be involved in the offer should contact council on 9389 6000 or email council@blacktown.nsw.gov.au
