I have been told by a Sydney Trains spokesperson that there is a proper way to use your Opal card, so that you get more 'Green Lights'.
Yet, some of us are placing the Opal cards in purses for females and wallets for males. So the simple solution is if you are doing this, not tap the Opal cards with other electronic cards in front or behind the Opal Card. It needs no interference, for allowing it top be 'tapped'.
So just tap it by yourself with the card only in your hand and that will work better.
You get less 'red light's and more 'green lights' to go through the barriers. I hope you take note of this and try it.
