So, How One Person Can Change And Improve And Improve Mount Druitt Train Station!

Alan Watson
Mr Alan Watsom
On last Thursday,  I met Alan Watson, Sydney Trains Stations Customer Manager for T1 Western Line, briefly before I caught a train in the morning.

He advised myself of upgrades at Blacktown and Penrith Station that have been approved and I asked about what is being done to ease commuters congestion in peak times at Mount Druitt train station.
A question was thrown back at myself from Mr. Watson, 'What can you do here at Mount Druitt train station?'

I immediately suggested that the concourse can be longer and  it could be wider on each side, reaching the outside lifts going to North Parade (in the North) and Beames Avenue (to the south).

The best thing was, he was listening and his eyes widened as I left him thinking about it. Mr Watson also said he will definitely read our blogspot.

I'm not to sure why  NSW Public Transport stake holders have not even given this a thought as yet. That is the impression that was left with myself. I will now advocate for this  new suggestion to reduce congested commuter traffic at Mount Druitt train station.

Speaking to some community members they think that the  NSW Government will not spend big money into the area, to provide this well deserved community upgrade. This is even though, the NSW Long Term Transport Master Plan 2030, now needs to have this included due to the increasing population and commuter growth factor that is happening in our sector of the Greater Western Sydney.

Here on the left, is Mount Druitt train station (facing the North East), you can see by widening the concourse on the left to the North Parade lifts, will have  a great positive affect on commuters entering and leaving  the station.

Here on the right, is Mount Druitt train station (facing South West), you can see further how widening the concourse will provide a much easier system for commuters to enter and exit Mount Druitt train station, as long as the length of the concourse is extended, as well.

Let's hope all stake holders take this on board!
