For Willmot Community Members there is 'The Willmot Explorer' local Community Bulletin Newspaper

Willmot  has a community comprising of 2,478 population according to Australian Bureau of  Statistics 2011, third smallest suburb within Mount Druitt.

Being in the North West sector of Mount Druitt, it sometimes feels is like left out in conversations of the Hub of Mount Druitt. With Ropes Crossing new housing development.

History -  Wikipedia

Willmot takes it name from Thomas Willmot (1851-1938) who was elected the first President of the Blacktown Shire Council. He was the Shire President in 1906-1910 and again in 1912-1913.The housing development built here in 1971 was to be called St Johns but since a suburb in Sydney was already called St Johns Park, Willmot was chosen.

The Willmot community have been proactive in organising 'The Willmot Explorer' and I picked up the 76th edition, which has a lot
of interesting subjects for a local community.

From Handy local phone numbers, quotes and jokes, Editors comments, 'Walk the Talk' article, community scams, paid advertising from Ward 5 Councillor Charlie Lowles and NSW State Member for Londonderry, Prue Car, world history, social issues, summary of Willmot Community Group meeting community events and dates shopping buses, Western Sydney Zoo proposal, kitchen Tips, local Willmot shop advertise and many more items to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading and thought at the end I was living in Willmott. In the past I've seen 2 or 3 other issues of the Willmot Explorer but have neglected to do further research. Congratulations to the Willmot community group.

They don't have a website but they have a Face Book Group - Willmot community members, I suggest you join this group!

Actually, I wonder if Mount Druitt could have one?

I picked up my copy from Hon Ed Husic's Office, Federal Member for Chifley. I'm sure you can pick them up at Willmot Shops.
