Two Light Poles Close Together!

It is amazing that we have 2 light within 2-3 metres of each of each other. On is the old wooden pole that also carries the electricity to our residential homes way above ground and the other light pole is the modern concrete pole that has the wiring under ground. The north side of Meacher Street, North Mount Druitt has got the modern concrete light pole, which is very appeasing to see it.

I do think Blacktown City Council didn't provide 2 poles next to each other on purpose. This now means the community that is paying a little bit more Council Rates, for an extra light that is not required. Does that mean the community gets a very slight reduction in rates, because of this? I would like to say yes, but I'm afraid it is, 'No'.

Maybe a suggestion is to change all street lights, in all suburbs of Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs,to the concrete street lights, which appears better looking and I'm sure concrete can outlast wood poles, in future!

We will see what the response from Council is going to do to assist the community on this matter!
