See How A Community Member Inspired Blacktown City Council To Make Changes At Plump Park Wetlands And Flora!

Another issue raised to myself (and I listened) referred to Blacktown city Council and they listened and are very caring.

We are not here to criticise any efforts Council does to make the Mount Druitt and surrounding area a great place to live, work and visit! Complements must be provided to the right authorities.

This now proves that the suggestions from individual people make the change. People should now not be afraid to communicate with Local Government Areas, to get the result they want to improve the area. The person that suggested about the the BBQ's and toilet amenities issue area issue  should take the credit for making that suggestion - I'm just the messenger!

Here is the full extract from the e-mail received from the Natural Area Coordinator from Blacktown City Council:

Dear John (C14/10653)

Thank you for your email regarding Plumpton Park wetlands and flora. I have passed on your wonderful comments to the staff who maintain the park. I know they endeavour to make the park an appealing place for the community to use.

As soon as we are aware of items not functioning (e.g. BBQ’s) within the reserve we program them to be fixed immediately. In regards to the cleaning of the channel and stormwater outlet, these are programmed works and occur on a quarterly basis. Litter however is removed as part of the weekly actions of staff who maintain the site. Council is currently looking at methods to address  and stop the litter entering the park through the stormwater outlets.

Your suggestion to move the toilet amenities has been considered and it has been listed on Council’s Works Improvement Program for future consideration.

Council appreciates your concern for the park and encourage you to advise any other concerns or suggestions you may have.

Kind Regards
