Ramp Access At Westfield Mount - Now Being Reviewed!

Another good news is in relation to the ramp that is years old and  doesn't provide proper wheel chair access to community members within Mount Druitt Westfield shopping. In the past we have been living in the  'dark ages' and although, a representative from Council didn't think it was important for  this to chnage to full access to the community, The stake holders understand the risk involved  catering for the  wheelchair access community.

The following is via the  representative from Blacktown City Council, straight from Westfield Management:

"Hello John,

Here is the info I have received from Westfield’s regarding the ramp.

“We are currently investigating the history of the ramp and signage which is a number of years old as well as arranging for the compliance of the ramp to be checked against the required code at time of build.
Once we have all the relevant information we can determine what, if any, actions are required at this stage.

We will keep you informed as to date Mr Svoboda has not wanted to raise the matter directly to us but rather through council.”

I don't use a a wheelchair but I feel for the community member that use one now or in the future! I know it is not approved but it is making the Management of Westfield Mount Druitt, understand the important of proper access to the community!
