$10 Family Hampers In Mount Druitt - Face Book Group

This is a great idea, for families in need. Imagine it is not Christmas - yet there  are volunteers that  are making affordable food hampers for our community. I am overwhelmed that we have such organisations out within our community that are there helping the poor and needy. Here they are:

From $10 Hampers Mount Druitt Face Book Group:

FAQ - Although this is a long post please see if your questions are answered here and if not comment below. Everyone running this project is volunteering and have families so if all questions could be in the one place it will be greatly appreciated.
πŸ”΄When are hampers available?
Every Thursday from 5pm (no earlier)
If one off hampers are available at other times there will be a post.
πŸ”΄What's the collection address?
Unit 10, 71 Kurrajong Avenue Mt Druitt 2770.
πŸ”΄What's in the hampers?
The contents of the hampers vary each week.
πŸ”΄Are the items out of date?
Some items are past the best before date however they are still deemed fit for human consumption.
For further information visit http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/…/…/dates/Pages/default.aspx
πŸ”΄How many hampers can I buy?
We have to put a limit to ONE PER FAMILY to make things fair for other families.
πŸ”΄Am I guaranteed a hamper?
We have limited hampers however we do try to have at least 100 hampers each week. The hampers are available to the first 100 or so people that are lined up.
πŸ”΄Can we deliver?
We are unable to deliver. You can have someone pick up on your behalf but delivery is not available.
πŸ”΄How can I be considered / register?
If you are a person living anywhere in Australia or visiting Australia you are qualified and no need to register.
πŸ”΄Can I make a donation?
We currently only accept donations for hampers. If you wish to donate please do so by purchasing a hamper and gifting it to someone you know or asking us to gift it to someone in need who contacts us.
πŸ”΄Who is the organisation?
We are a group of individuals running the project under the umbrella of "Brothers In Need".
πŸ”΄Where does the money go?
All proceeds go to being able to provide hampers for the following week and helping families in need.
πŸ”΄Can I volunteer?
At this stage we have just started recently and are still working out our logistics. If you would be interested in volunteering please let us know but it may be a while until we know where we stand to accept volunteers.
πŸ”΄How do you make this happen?
The items are mostly purchased from the FOODBANK which relies on large supermarket donations to be able to sell to organisations/charities at a reduced rate. Without such organisations our service would not be possible.
πŸ”΄Why only Mount Druitt?
We have just started this project and although we may look to expand in the future we are limited to the one location currently. If you are out of the area please feel free to message us to see if we are aware of any groups that offer a similar service in your area.
πŸ”΄What is the demand like?
We are still working out the demand for the area as we have had very little exposure until recently so we will try to adjust hampers to meet the demand. Please bare with us. We are all volunteers doing this in our own time and we may have a few learning curbs.
πŸ”΄Why do you do this?
We believe everyone should be able to have access to food every week and as much as they NEED. We charge the donation per hamper so we can provide an on going service.
πŸ”΄Can I pick up on another day via appointment?
At this stage we only have hampers on Thursdays at 5pm
If we have any left they may be offered Friday morning but will be posted on the page if available.
