General comments bring general discussion on community issues that need to be improved. From comments the community raises, concerns can be discussed, researched and looked into by relevant local government authorities and NSW State Government authorities. Then 'solutions could be looked at to get the community's approval.
Here we have a community member who is raising up a significant issue that raises a lot of concern, not only for him/her but for others as well. Living in communities, this means that people need to have appropriate facilities and living in major hubs where there are privately owned shopping center businesses, that do not want to practice fire alarms during the day as that is when major shoppers shop. I think this is wrong!
As as former Chairperson of a Work Health and Safety Committee, fire alarm practice and drills should be practiced during the day time for mostly for two main reasons: as potential fires could start during the day and allowing residents in the area to sleep at night.
It is very uncomfortable if community members, living around and near Westfield are woken up at late hours of night or early ours of morning to Westfield drilling or practicing alarm bells, consistently and not done during the day.
This is something that Blacktown City Council, NSW State Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery can do to speak to relevant authorities to see if Westfield cares for Night time community members sleeping.

Thanks for raising this issue. It has been causing us grief for over three years. My parents have raised this issue with Westfields managment themselves, only for the problem to continue.
