Busways Removes A Lot Of Accessible Bus Services From The Mount Druitt Area!

A public transport spokesperson has advised that although Busways is running bus services in NSW Bus Region 1, it appears that complaint s of customers are rising directly to bus drivers.

The main issue is that many accessible buses have been removed from Mount Druitt services and placed for service in the Hills area.
The ratio is now about 40% of buses are driving within the area being accessible compared to before when there would have been about 70% at least, driving in the area, prior to the tendering of the NSW Bus Region 1.

The problem that it causes to bus drivers is that people are coming with prams, strollers and wheelchairs and they can not be taken in. the high step buses are making it difficult for commuters. Maybe the NSW Government can be asked why NSW for Transport is removing accessible bus from Busways NSW Bus Region 1, bus service from around Mount Druitt.

If this has been done deliberately to inconvenience the community that catches these buses then they are not improving the community's public transport bus services. There would be a lot of uncomfortable emotions and feeling for both commuters and bus drivers.

I hope Blacktown City Transport Officers can look into this as well as State Members of Parliament and see whether this is true, what is happening in the Mount Druitt area.
