Are These types of Fences Required In Mount Druitt To Prevent Graffiti on Electricity Boxes And Damage?

It is important that we understand that for years has put up with consistent graffiti and cover up on graffiti and this issue is harder to deal with as the perpetrators seem to get away with it a majority of the time.

They seem to choose the evenings to do it all and this makes it hard for them to be seen. We need to restore confidence with this issue and we know that Blacktown City Council's Graffiti Removal Team are at scenes as quick as notified or seen, to restore appearance of our Mount Druitt and surrounding suburbs community.

So, a possible resolution to resolve the issue of graffiti artist markings on public property especially around electricity boxes, where are are placed in-between properties, maybe the way they do it in Parramatta: barricade it or fence it off with color.

Here there has been no graffiti for quite a few months in this area in Parramatta, yet it does look pleasing to look at, while it shows an atmosphere with modern red color.

So, this could be a good concept that could be used by our local electricity company: Endeavour Energy and see if they are prepared to spend the money that is need to make these positive great community improvements. Just Imagine if all communities had these in the appropriate places. Would it reduce the crime? Time will tell. Will it be making the community looking better? Instantly. Let us know what you think?

Parklights Next Door To Residential Properties Could Be Resolved With Issues Of Direct Light

On William Mason Reserve, North Mount Druitt, we have discussed the issues of direct  park light on residential properties and its affect on the community.

If the lights are facing away from the residential  properties, then there is a less chance of disturbance, maybe if the poles were  altered with positions on these poles Facing East to West, so that occupants of  houses that will make  them have less light shine their way.

It won't stop Park lights shining from residential properties but it could reduce it. What do you think? Is this true/Maybe Endeavour Energy will fix this up.

So I will contact Endeavor Energy, to see how long they fix this up. Also ask them how often do they review park/reserve lights.

ENDEAVOUR ENERGY CLAIMS SAGGING ELECTRICITY WIRES ARE SAFE!

Here we are we have gone from Customer Service Representative  Endeavour Energy to Community Advocate Representative- couldn't answer my last question and now referred  to a Consumer Resolution Provider, to find out why 10 weeks to update the sagging power lines and leaning light post.

It appears that 'They are too busy' to attend this health and safety issue for the community now. The poles are sound mind to leave electricity poles sagging, so if a further storm comes now, 'Don't worry be happy, it will be done eventually', according to Endeavour Energy!

Here is their response:

Hi Mr Svoboda,

A crew attended this site on 25th February to once again assess the safety of the site. The crew has stated that the poles are sound and are safe until the replacement date of the 31st of March. Whilst there the crew temporarily raised the L.V ABC mains to give more clearance.

Unfortunately the 31st of March is the earliest possible date available to complete this job.

Kind regards,

And here is my response to them:

Why wasn't it inspected on 15th January one day after storm - why wait  41 days?

There was a truck on 14th on Meacher Street (Outside this park)- why wasn't it inspected then?

Is this how your company runs to get a community back on it's feet? If it was outside the Premiers office, you would have inspected and done job straight away!

There are a lot of questions to be raised to be referred to WHS Inspectors now!

Another Month Or More To Fix Sagging Power Lines And Leaning Light Post - William Mason Reserve Mount Druitt!

Amazing, that although the storm damage that raged the Mount Druitt/Rooty Hill area and the aftermath takes delays for Endeavour Energy to  attending to High Risk to lives with sagging power lines and leaning light post in William Mason Reserve, North Mount Druitt.

Here is the email from their community advocate, confirming we haven't got time to do it  now, 'let's do it later on 31st March 2016'. It appears they have not rated it as a potentially high hazard and risk to the community with children flying kites to these lines and if another potential raging storm is in the same vicinity, that could cause harm or be fatal to any of our community members. I'm not being over protective, just ensuring that the community is safe from such potential hazards!

I have since placed the question why 10 weeks to get these properly addressed. No advice from the Endeavour Energy community advocate, for 2 days!

After Endeavour Energy inspected the leaning electricity/light poles and wires, they have agreed to straighten both of them. They obviously agree that it is a potential health health and safety risk to our Mount Druitt community.

It is very good when stake holders take interest and agree with the community.

Leaning Poles And Lowered Power Lines - Need Proper Improvement - William Mason Reserve, North Mount Druitt!

We have raised issues before of  'leaning streets light poles' Click here,  and Endeavour Energy have given us us their feed back - 'They won't do it- it is safe!'

So after the storms that created havoc between Whalan, Mount  Druitt and Rooty Hill we have power lines sagging inside William Mason Reserve, North Mount Druitt, that if there is another storm havoc, they could be unsafe for the community. This does required immediate improvement from Endeavour Energy and we hope Blacktown City can  request them to attend to this straight away.

Furthermore, there is the leaning  power pole, which needs propping up - we hope Endeavour Energy will provide this improvement at the same time.

If you have any other power poles in the same situation with our area. send details to us on nsjpas@gmail.com .

Shennan Walk way Electricity Boxes Are Full Of Graffiti!

On Shennan Walk Way, North Mount Druitt there are electricity boxes that are full of Graffiti and have been for a while. This is obviously checked by relevant stake holders.

We Hope that Blacktown City Council take steps and the initiative to eradicate this type of anti-social behaviour!  Time and time again these graffiti artists that wreck the area do not understand that if money is spent fixing up and reinstating public property, this could take vital and important funds away from other children services that is funded by Local, State and Federal Government.

When will the message get out to these people?

Labor Party Posters Up - May Have To Come Down With Fines In Mount Druitt!

Today, I received an email from the Mount Druitt candidate, Joshua Green, complaining about  Labor Party Posters in the Mount Druitt State being placed on electricity poles, which is illegal, without the electricity company's permission. In this case it is Endeavour Energy.

Click here for Joshua Green's Message on Labor Party Posters on electricity light poles

Joshua has further suggested that these posters are on the main roads - Carlisle, Popondetta, Luxford, Woodstock, Jersey, Hyatts, Rooty Hill Rd North. Here are photos of a political signs courtesy from Joshua Green: Click Here

I must admit it is a good picture of Councillor Edmond Atalla, portraying him being happy! In the past I have seen political posters that have serious faces - a candidate should be proud of what he or she is doing!

Personally, I thought it was legal as for decades and decades politicians have always been placing their face in any public poles in streets with political posters everywhere. It must have come into law within the last 4 years! I understand that when candidates have information day with the NSW Electoral Commission, this issue would have been addressed - I will try to get this confirmed.

I have conducted a quick research on the Endeavour Energy's website and they confirm what Mr. Green is complaining about. In fact they state that the following:

OR BETTER STILL READ ON

Commercial signs and political posters attached without permission on Endeavour Energy’s power poles, streetlight columns or other network equipment is not allowed.

The unauthorised use of our network to post signs is a breach of both the Electricity Supply Act and the Graffiti Control Act.

Posting signs also breaches strict safety rules for working on or near electricity infrastructure, particularly when poles and streetlight columns are adjacent to public roads.

You can report unauthorised signs on power poles in our network here or by calling 133 718.

Please provide the street address, nearest cross street, relevant details of the sign and, if possible, the pole number.  You can also attach photos in your message to us.

We will safely remove unauthorised signs as soon as possible and may invoice the organisation responsible for the cost of doing so.

AND FURTHER INFORMATION FROM THE NSW ELECTORAL COMMISSION, Click here  or read the following:

Posters

Once the Writs have been issued for a State election, and commencing on the 40th day before election day for a Local Government election, all posters must show the name and address of the person authorising the printing of the poster, and the name of the printer and the address at which it was printed. These requirements give authenticity to the document and allow the source or printer to be contacted, if necessary. This provision applies whether a poster is displayed on a building, a motor vehicle, attached to a wooden stake or is in banner form.

It is an offence to write, draw or depict any electoral matter directly on any roadway, footpath, building, vehicle, vessel, hoarding or place.

The size of posters is only regulated when they are displayed in certain areas at a polling place on election day. Posters are prohibited within 6 metres of the entrance to a polling place (the actual building). Posters displayed beyond the 6 metre exclusion zone and up to or on an outer wall, fence or other boundary to the grounds are not allowed to be bigger than 8,000 square centimetres (80cm x 100cm) in area. Several single posters of the required size must not be joined together so as to create a sign in excess of the legal maximum size.

Posters are not to be exhibited on or in unoccupied premises, unless permission has first been obtained from the owner. It is also unlawful to attach posters to telegraph poles without the written consent of the appropriate electricity provider.

If the Returning Officer receives a complaint concerning an illegal poster outside a polling place, the candidate, registered political party or community organisation will be contacted and asked to remove it. Election officials are able to remove such posters displayed at a polling place.

A spokesperson I spoke to tonight from Endeavour Energy advised that the fines could be anywhere from $100 upwards to $1,000 each poster. Also advised was that the political posters are issues as it disturbs drivers diving on public roads, which is a safety issue, with high potential risk to cause road accidents.

I also think that the people within our community,do not want streets with with overseen posters as it doesn't look nice to see poster after poster of politicians, their slogans and their political parties! Do not get myself wrong, politicians are human beings, like you and me.  I do and still have my respect for each of them as they do for myself!
