Blacktown City Council - Media Release - Council Pops-Up In Plumpton

Description: Description: Blacktown City CouncilMEDIA RELEASE
1 April 2019

Blacktown City Council is inviting residents of Plumpton and

surrounding suburbs to have their say at its first ‘pop-up’

information session for the year to be held at Plumpton

Shopping Centre next Saturday.

Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali MP and a number of

Councillors will be on hand to answer residents’ questions on

any council issues.

Mayor Bali said addressing residents and ratepayers

concerns on the spot is one of the most effective ways to

engage with the community.

“The pop-up sessions have proven to be a very popular

initiative, with residents raising their concerns in a casual

environment at their convenience,” Mayor Bali said.

Council held three pop-up sessions across Blacktown last

year and is planning to hold one in each of the 5 Wards this

year.

“Next Saturday’s pop-up session at Plumpton Shopping

Centre will be a chance to meet me and my fellow

Councillors and Council Officers to answer your questions

and concerns,” Mayor Bali said.

“We want as many people as possible to have ‘Your Say’.

“With my fellow Councillors, I look forward to listening to your

concerns,” Mayor Bali said.

What's Happening With The Commonwealth Bank Branches In And Around Mount Druitt Area

Image result for commonwealth bankSo for community members that are wondering what is happening with one of our major banks in Mount Druitt, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia will be relocated from Dawson Mall to Westfield  Mount Druitt.

Also the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in  Plumpton has closed down for renovations and staff have been relocated temporarily to Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Mount Druitt until the renovations are complete.

So don't get surprised if the Mount Druitt Branch of the  Commonwealth Bank of Australia disappears!

Plumpton Market Place Has Got The Right Idea With Pedestrian Access Car Parks

So after many years, I finally noticed what is needed in all shopping centres which allows pedestrians to walk from their  car space in the car park directly and safely to the Shopping centre is a clear walkway between parked cars. You will notice that it leads to a pedestrian crossing, for access to the shopping centre

Image result for Plumpton MarketplaceLike everything there is 'fors' and 'against' for this idea, yet when all weighed out, the 'fors' should have it. The 'againsts', in this idea is the use of more land, slight loss of car park spaces and may cost the owners more money to  provide this infrastructure. The 'fors' for providing this infrastructure is most importantly and primarily health and safety for the consumers/ shoppers, who are entering or exiting the shopping centre. To me, the saving a life is cost worth spending on and is a gigantic 'Yes' for me.

Maybe, Westfield Mount could consider this type of options for future planning.

Promotion Of A Local Mens Fashion Store - "Spot On Fashion", Westfield Mount Druitt

This website is always promoting local businesses within  local our area and especially businesses that need our help for 'Free Advertising'. Mostlyhis is based on my personal service or other Face Book Group members and  also on the end result of purchasing goods and service. In some ways I feel I am a secret shopper. A secretary shopper that may assist their business in going up or down. I honestly hope mostly up.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 60 percent of small business cease trading  within 3 years Click here for details . Then you have businesses that have heavy competition against themselves, in relation to the  type of business and service that is provided.

So today, I can honestly provide an A plus or 5 Star Rating for a local business that has contributed to my life, making my life easier and placing myself in great comfort. In Mount Druitt, we have plenty of Women's Fashion Store, yet when we come to Men's Fashion Store, we are limited and it  become specialised.

Lately, I had to purchase  2 sets of Suits and an additional  evening shirt and I went late on Sunday afternoon , receiving a full divided attentive sales lady, who provide non-biased opinions of  different coloured suites I was wearing. At the end I needed some tailoring adjustment and had to be picked up yesterday. Even though my wife and I arrived about 5pm to pick up the goods; The lady apologised, rang upthe tailor and  ensured it would be delivered in 15 minutes.

The manager Joseph arrived and immediately apologised, saying, " It was ready 3 hours ago, marked ready to be picked up Tuesday'. This was Spot ON Fashion in Westfield Mount Druitt. I fully recommend them foe Men's formal wear, suits and evening  shirts.

They also have a shop  which is conveniently located in Plumpton Market Place as well. Here is their details:

If you have had great service price from this business go to Google Maps and  go to contribution and add your ratings and comments. You may have to have a Google account to do this.

When It Comes To Professional Local Photography & Videos.... 'Pure Elegance Photos And Cinema'

When it come to using professional  Photographers and Videographers, for those special moments. It is really important that there is a lot of research done, to get memories recorded for future reviews and remembering the great past.

Photographers and Videographers are used to celebrate from birth, to birthdays, weddings, wedding anniversaries and other family  photograhic events.

So, as I have mentioned before, that  because 'whyilovemountdruit' is a local website, it focuses on promoting free of charge adds for local businesses, to make it that much better for the business. Yet for me to recommend it, it  has to be referred to me, used by me or recommended by others within the community.

So today, I would like to recommend for quality service and price:

Click here for Face Book details

Click here for Pure Elegance photos and cinema website

So, Kam and his wife Christie,  are friendly and do offer their  time to explain and show examples of their work, while offering fair pricing. I'm sure that viewing their work, they provide quality results.

They are even prepared to visit sites unknown, in preparation for the important day, thus making it easier to plan their video and photographic sessions.

We hope you contact them and check them out, before you overspend and not to mention they are locals in Plumpton.

Pedestrian Foot Crossing Required At Corner Of Hyatts Road and Wood Stock Avenue Rooty Hill/Plumpton!

We have another access crossing without access crossing marks/markings. The intersection of  Hyatts Road and Woodstock Avenue Rooty Hill/Plumpton there are indications for a pedestrian access, there is also a cut walk way on the median strip, allowing  for pedestrians to walk, but pedestrians are not allowed to walk over legally.

To compliment this request, there is a foot access crossing between East and West of Duke Street towards Woodstock Avenue, which carries most probably lesser traffic, thus the pedestrian access crossing we are requesting to make the community safer, is warranted. We kindly request that Council provides this necessary improvement for the community of Rooty Hill/Plumpton?

What's Happening To Leaning Street Light - Potential Health & Safety Risk - Plumpton!

Well, we are starting to get the community involved to notify 'whyilovemountdruitt', necessary changes, so the relevant authorities making wonderful improvements no matter how big or small, within the community

In saying this, we understand that 'Council Officers and Councillors' may not have the eyes to see these changes. They might be looking at the bigger picture.

So Raza, a community member from Plumpton has provided a situation that is unusual but makes him worry of every day community health and safety.

You will notice that in Perrin Avenue, Plumpton, there is a public street light post that is leaning at more than a slight angle. I noticed in the picture, it is as straight as you can get it. The main issue here is so obvious. If  by chance, this public light post was neglected for a longer period of time and it fell damaged/destroyed private cars and injured or caused death to any community member, how would the authorities feel.

I'd say it has been leaning for years. It makes you wonder if relevant authorities do audit checks on their public street lights, maybe last audit was passed by them!

We request Blacktown City Council to monitor and refer to relevant authorities,  to attend to it as a major priority of possible high risk. Lives should not be placed on 'risk'.

We also thank Raza for bringing to our attention and look forward to know how quick this problem is resolved.

To the wider community, we invite comments, thoughts on this blog and other published blogs we have. If you have any matters, you would like raise with us - e-mail us with your issue, description of the improvement required and any photos or videos. We are getting results for the community.
