The First And Not The last 'Drone or UAV' Seen In Mount Druitt - William Mason Reserve - North Mount Druitt

I have seen them on TV and I have heard about them and now I have seen one. Drones or UAV's are now in Mount Druitt. The purchasing costs are coming down, where you can  afford one for under $1,000.

While these are not very common in our area, they will be one day and although the range of height they can go is 1.8 metres to a radius of 5 kilometres. Whilst they are fun to use and control are they a nuisance, to others? I'm all for having fun and using machines to  make anyone life's happy, as long as all the safety issues are  complied too.

Although the parent was controlling the child here, my fear is if there are many of these in Parks, Gradens and Reserves, there could be health and safety issues of potential accidents with each machine and also accidents with people, including children. Maybe there could be life threatening fatalities. I hope not. The blades on the Drone  are very sharp if they come into contact with anything, whilst they are propelling.

If used in an open field, there mus't be any interaction with other community members, is what I feel and in the same case maybe not all parks and Reserves are suited to this. There may be new laws that need to be in place with  this new toy contraption. Thus, there may need to be designated areas for these drones to be used at: like Whalan Reserve which has vast areas of grass but then is too close to high electricity wires.

The second issue, is the issue of privacy. Drones have  video cameras and if they fly high into peoples property, isn't that invasion of privacy. They are also known as UAV's (unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and to help users of UAV's or drones and stake holders that are interested in the legal use Click for Details of legal use of from the ABC News and it is comes under the Australian Civil Aviation Authority, except for privacy laws.

All factors considered, should Councils and NSW Government do something about it now or have they? I've done a quick check  on Blacktown City Council -  unable to sight anything on Drones or UAV's. On the NSW Government, information on Drones or UAV's can assist some government departments like NSW Rural fire Services, in spotting exactly where fires are coming from. Maybe Drones or UAV's could be used by Blacktown City Council to catch  people  using graffiti artwork in wrecking our  beautiful  towns and buildings.

I feel Council should do something about it, maybe if there are no local Laws in place add laws to make our Mount Druitt and Blacktown Local Government Area a happier and safer place with Drones and UAV's. This will not happen overnight. There may need to be public meetings to discuss it and also its affects.
