780 Bus To Tregear Should Be Re-routed - Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc.- Daily Telegraph

We have reported how important it is to provide essential services, as well as bus services to support commuters within our community. This issue has been dragging since 2009 and yet a band aid solution was provided called the 'Shopper Hopper 674', which is less frequently serviced by buses, when is was properly serviced before November 2009.

Our people need to be heard and the bureaucrats, need to live in this area and understand the realty of why proper bus services are required in the west part of Whalan. Here is their story from the Daily Telegraph:

“The Tregear Festival celebrates the community spirit that is alive and thriving in our great district,” said Deputy Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Tony Bleasdale.

“Mr Lethbridge built a fine homestead, which he called “Tregeare” after his great uncle’s property in England – now known as Tregear.

“But, the Tregear Festival is much more than about celebrating the local community and its history.

“It also provides a great opportunity to showcase local talent and community pride.”

New! Idea For Safer Community At Mount Druitt Hub - Tregear Community Member!

Image result for NSW PoliceA male community member from Tregear has come up with a brilliant idea to make the community safer. It is so brilliant that all stake holders should grasp the idea in their hands run off and get the plans going, as it is worth mentioning.

The issue is that when there are serious safety incidents within the Dawson Mall o R Mount Druitt Town Square area, Westfield Mount Druitt or Westfield Train Station that may require Police to provide safety to the community. Response time from Mount Druitt Police could be minutes by car, yet if the NSW Government have a small police unit at Westfield Mount Druitt, with a minimum 6 of police officers stationed there, the response time may be much quicker.

Image result for westfield mount druittWhat a superb idea. Westfield security guards can try to keep the peace and ask community members disturbing the peace  to move away, then the Police would be called. By the time the Mount Druitt Local area command dispatch a squad car to the scene, the Police Stationed in Westfield Mount Druitt could actually provide a quicker response time to resolve the situation. Better response times means better safer communities!

The stationed Police at Westfield could also do more foot patrols in the area, so that the community can see they are well protected.

Let us hope that all stake holders take this up as a great initiative so that it can be implemented in the future, for a safe Mount Druitt community.

Job Creation For The Youth - Wayne From Tregear!

That we take for granted the political stance of each day. It is without doubt that speaking to different community members.

To give you an example, Wayne from Tregear with a wife, 3 children and 2 grandchildren and was speaking of the young in our area. He finds there are 2 main reasons why the young may have difficult in finding jobs, combined with minimum wages and the inability and affordability to buy into the current Real Estate market.

He  has some some good strong points that I agree on and he also out how all governments both Liberal and Labor, federal, state and where possible local, should be looking at job creating industries for the future, dealing with technological changes. Jobs that are long term and permanent income.

The current average work that employers are hiring is largely casual, with no benefits like annual leave, sick leave, long service not set hours per week on contract. This doesn't create job security by having more casual jobs then permanent jobs. With job security comes a better lifestyle and living standards, confidence and  growth of the national economy.

Wayne believes that our youth once employed should join unions as they do look after minimum wages and protect them. I also agree with this but  unions getting wage rises places risk with employers and business owner and dips into their profit. Whereas a tax deduction does not affect the employers profitability margin and be a better result for all.

Keeping in mind all employers have expenses to pay: rent, accountant fees, all wages, superannuation guarantee, relevant costs to supply their goods and services also any other running costs. Yet there are the multi-million dollar profit companies that could allow for minimum wages to be increased and very small businesses may not be able to afford or these minimum youth wage increases. If there is an increase in wages the employer may not be able to  let go of employees, especially if the profit margin was slim or come to a worse situation close the business.

Sure the National and State wage awards that set the minimum youth wages must be reviewed  by the relevant wage commission based on inflation and unemployment rates. My suggestion is for employers to add in the employment benefits that can be achieved. Once probation is completion and annual and half-yearly performance reviews, where bonuses could be awards as well as  annual wage award increases. This is to be based on  realistic individual performance against company performance key performance indicators as long as minimum standards are met, maintained and/or exceeded by the young employees.

No unions may be involved but if there is no agreement met on this suggestion, an outside arbitrator can be set to resolve any disagreements. Where governments give here is by providing with primary and secondary education curriculum that meets young  career paths that  fits in with community needs.

Guidance Councillors must be available on site at schools providing that encouragement and guidance that is required to meet the youths career goals. Giving them the youth the right choices required to end up with the correct qualifications and also be self-satisfied. Additional to this, potential employers could also be encourage to employ youths starting with part time and ending up long term full time

'Tregear' Sign Needs Improvements Within Luxford Road Mount Druitt!

It seems that the person responsible for auditing community street signs might be 'asleep'. This 'Tregear' notice sign has been tagged with graffiti, along Luxford Road, Emerton (opposite Holy Family Church) and been left there! You can see it is quite obvious!

Whether it needs replacing or cleaning, we will leave it to the stake holders to take action. It doesn't take much to fix it up, maybe there is a bit of red tape  to kick start it.

Let's hope between Local Blacktown City Council and NSW State Government, this will be attended too, to providing much needed improvements within our community.

Less And Less Local Newspapers Delivered Door To Door Service - Have You Noticed This?

Today, I received an email from Pauline, Vice-President, Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc, has confirmed speaking to Mount Druitt- St Marys Standard, Sales Manager Giles  on the 12th March, 2015, that there are suburbs that they do not provide door-to-door delivery of their newspaper:
  • Willmot
  • Shalvey
  • Bidwill
  • Lethbridge Park
  • Blackett
  • Tregear
  • Emerton

Other suburbs within Mount Druitt, may be considered privileged suburbs receiving door-to-door delivery of newspapers

The issue here is there are community members that may not have access to online newspapers and do want to keep up with local news, advertisements and sports. I was wondering if the local advertisers are aware some suburbs are not being reached!

Maybe, we do not know the reason why they do no not have this essential service as it could be that there aren't enough people employed to deliver these newspapers, limited amount of published copies or various other reasons.

Personally, I have a total high regard for both local newspapers:  both editors and journalists, as they do the hard work to keep the community informed and educated.

I would just like the Editors of both our local papers, to consider the requests of the community to have improvements in door to door delivery or avenues were the community knows where in in each suburb their newspapers could be collected?
