Seniors Card - Do you qualify?

You know, I have been called a senior at work in the past, and yet I do not feel that old. Although, I feel quite young myself. So, I am forwarding & extending details for people, who may not know that they qualify for the Seniors Card. This is a NSW Government initiative, which has been around for a while.

The Seniors card honors yourself as an elderly member of our community and allows you to  have discounts on  quite a few things, that may help the cost of living go down. This is especially so true, if you are retired, after years and years of work and thus your income is reduced.

 if you know of someone that has qualified - then help them out as well. Would like to here from yourselves, even if you are using this card already and how beneficial is it to you, if it is.

780 Bus To Tregear Should Be Re-routed - Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc.- Daily Telegraph

We have reported how important it is to provide essential services, as well as bus services to support commuters within our community. This issue has been dragging since 2009 and yet a band aid solution was provided called the 'Shopper Hopper 674', which is less frequently serviced by buses, when is was properly serviced before November 2009.

Our people need to be heard and the bureaucrats, need to live in this area and understand the realty of why proper bus services are required in the west part of Whalan. Here is their story from the Daily Telegraph:

NSW Budget 2018-2019 - NSW Government

The NSW Budget 2018-19 will deliver to families and individuals across the state, with cost of living relief, unprecedented school investment and record hospital funding. A surplus of $3.9 billion is projected for 2017-18, with average surpluses of $1.6 billion over the four years to 2021-22. Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said this budget showcases the rock-solid financial foundation the NSW Government has built, and that makes it possible to put people first. “Despite revenue pressures, we have kept expenses under control, pursued bold reform, and made better use of our resources," Mr Perrottet said. "That’s why this budget can keep building for the future on a record scale, while offering more help for families working hard to get ahead.” Read the NSW Budget 2018-19 papers

WHAT'S IN THE NSW BUDGET 2018-19

Community services More caseworkers will support those at risk of homelessness or significant harm. Young people and victims of domestic violence will receive tailored support to improve their lives.

Education and Training Over 170 new and upgraded schools are planned across NSW. 100,000 free apprenticeships will ensure there is a strong pipeline of skilled workers across the state.

Culture A new $100 Creative Kids rebate will allow young people to experience cultural and learning activities. Grants will support youth engagement initiatives and community events.

Government services Service NSW centres will become one-stop shops for cost-of-living support. National parks, parklands and iconic walking tracks will receive funding to improve visitor safety and amenities.

Health Extra nurses, midwives, paramedics and doctors will improve patient care. New parents will receive a baby bundle to support the health, development and wellbeing of their newborn.

Police and Justice A record investment will keep communities safe with new police stations, policing on country roads and the expansion of court programs for young offenders.

Roads Our roads will be made safer through infrastructure upgrades, more highway patrol officers and increased roadside testing. All of NSW's major highways will be sealed by 2023.

Transport New technology will expand the trial of driverless vehicles and increase train services. Extra bus services will be rolled out across regional and metropolitan NSW.

Utilities Households will be able to reduce their electricity bills through Service NSW's One-Click Energy Switch. A world-class water management system will be built in regional NSW to better manage water use.
