Less And Less Local Newspapers Delivered Door To Door Service - Have You Noticed This?

Today, I received an email from Pauline, Vice-President, Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc, has confirmed speaking to Mount Druitt- St Marys Standard, Sales Manager Giles  on the 12th March, 2015, that there are suburbs that they do not provide door-to-door delivery of their newspaper:

• Willmot
• Shalvey
• Bidwill
• Lethbridge Park
• Blackett 
• Tregear 
• Emerton

Other suburbs within Mount Druitt, may be considered privileged suburbs receiving door-to-door delivery of newspapers

The issue here is there are community members that may not have access to online newspapers and do want to keep up with local news, advertisements and sports. I was wondering if the local advertisers are aware some suburbs are not being reached!

Maybe, we do not know the reason why they do no not have this essential service as it could be that there aren't enough people employed to deliver these newspapers, limited amount of published copies or various other reasons.

Personally, I have a total high regard for both local newspapers:  both editors and journalists, as they do the hard work to keep the community informed and educated.

I would just like the Editors of both our local papers, to consider the requests of the community to have improvements in door to door delivery or avenues were the community knows where in in each suburb their newspapers could be collected?

A Suggestion From A Comunity Member From Willmott - Regarding Cyclists!

Following on from cyclist sharing pathways, I have been advised by a Whalan commuter Blacktown City Council did a thick book report in the 1970's  in relation to cycle pathways and shared pathways and this hasn't emerged from anywhere to show what theses plans were in those times. Maybe there wasn't a focus in that time as maybe there wasn't a lot of cyclists on the road in a growing community.

In relation to cyclists having more access to shared pathways in Mount Druitt, it was reported by a commuter from Willmott, that in one news paper recently that there should be a speed limit for cyclists. This is to prevent speeding cyclists on pathways having potential accidents with pedestrians. The speed limit suggested was 10km per hour.
 
It seems like it is happening around the world - why are we behind the times?

My question is as a cyclist, how do we gauge this when bicycles are not supplied with distance or speed gauges and how will his Police? Will there be radars and cameras to issue, 'Issue on the spot fines'. A good suggestion, yet Council's obligation will be for them to ensure ample speed limit signs are placed on relevant sections of the shared pathway.
