Foundations Are Being Laid For Mount Druitt Police Station Upgrade

Mount Druitt Police Station is getting it's much needed upgrade. It was an initiative from the Opposition Candidate from Mount Druitt, in the 2015 State Election, Olivia Lloyd. This was sought as an election promise from Olivia, she personally lobbied for and obtained directly from the Liberal Premier of the day, Mike Baird.

This also has probably been started up by previous State Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery and recently by the current member of Mount Druitt, Hon. Edmond Atalla.

Mount Druitt's Police Station modern upgrade is required in our area because of  a lot of new medium density housing being built within the hub of Mount Druitt. Included as reason is the trend of rising populations growth as previously mentioned, in the past and currently.

We all live in our community world that is growing day by day. If our population changes and the surrounding infrastructure/essential services doesn't meet or catch up to population changes, then some major decisions have to made to  keep everything at pace with population growth.
We congratulate 2015 NSW Mount Druitt, Liberal Candidate, Olivia Lloyd, Hon. Edmond Atalla, State Member for Mount Druitt, Former NSW Premier Michael Baird and any other person that put a good word or followed through with this community improvement.

Let's face it, we can't fall behind the times, in our most important area with anything. Thank you  for the NSW Government for getting things done, especially for Mount Druitt Police Station.

Mount Druitt Mayor - "Charlie Lowles OAM" Memmorial 13/11/2016 - RIP - All Thanks Blacktown City Council

I have met  former Council Charlie Lowles, on about  multitude of occasions, sometimes we didn't see  'eye to eye' and there was of the recent times where we shared  positive thoughts together. Although, like others I had difficulty in understanding what he said as he also spoke faster and with a rather English distinct accent, but his heart and mind was all Australian.

I'm sure that he knew every square inch of Mount Druitt and I'm am so so sure that every inch of Mount Druitt knew 'Charlie'. At his Memorial Service at Emerton Leisure Centre (heart of Mount Druitt where he  got improved facilities), it was so graceful, all politics was placed aside.  We had  great speeches from Mayor, Councilor Stephen Bali, who demonstrated how he learnt a lot from 'Charlie', NSW State Member for Mount Druitt, Hon. Edmond Atalla, who gave a passionate and brilliant explanation of how he assisted  'Charlie' with mobile phone technology.  To Charlie's daughter, who  made myself understand that his passion for  Everton Football Club and Mount Druitt Town Rangers Soccer club shared common goals and how the family allowed him to spend time within the community. That is why there was  dark blue and white flags for Emerton and  green and yellow flags representing Mount Druitt Town Rangers. This was a beautiful reflection of his football supporting life.

Then Alma his wife, who held back tears as she shared how they embraced  his life and  commitment to the Council and community. To Hon. Ed Husic, Federal Member of Chifley, who also shared the  time he had with him at  'Charlie's Office' in Plumpton Shops.

In fact most of his fellow political colleagues shared coffee at his 'office' at Plumpton.  Hon. Pru Car, NSW Member of Londonderry,  spoke to us audience as if she was speaking to him, as she stated ' She never had a chance to say goodbye to him'. There was Reg Murray,  Mount Druitt Chamber of  Commerce, whom brought his personal experience he had with 'Charlie' in removing graffiti  around the area and the process of how that was done. There was his mate and understudy Councillor Tony Bleasedale, who has a big shoe to  take over and explained how  he is saddened by the loss of 'his mate', both originally coming from Liverpool. There were other speakers that spoke from Mount Druitt Town Rangers President and representative from Rooty Hill RSL.

Really, it was a  beautiful, graceful way of  remembering 'Charlie' but the most predominate speaker I thought stood out, yesterday was,  former NSW State Member of Mount Druitt (retired 2015), Richard Amery, where he  encouraged  the audience to agree to rename the  Emerton Leisure Centre to Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre or Similar, is well thought of. Charlie made Emerton Leisure was it is  today as a true community advocate.

Personally, I wish I  could have  development a more  closer  relationship with him, as Charlie has proven to be, 'The Mayor of Mount Druitt' and the mayor of Blacktown doesn't mind that.

I wish, on behalf of the audience and the community, Council  does go ahead with Richard Amery's suggestion and that in itself is the icing on the cake to ensure our community will remember Charlie.

NSW RMS Approves Pedestrian Phase Walkway At Luxford Road, North Mount Druitt - Now Up To Council To Make Requests!

  Well, with about 20 months of advocating and lobbying for a phase walkway at Luxford Road, North Mount from myself (blog after blog), and finding another North Mount Druitt community improvement advocate Richard (as I found out recently), support from the retired NSW Member for Mount Druitt, Richard Amery (last year), no support from Westfield Mount Druitt, Councillor Jacqueline Donaldson, who has raised this issue at Blacktown City Council and I'm pretty sure the Mayor from Blacktown, Councillor Stephen Bali ( who has been keeping an eye on these blogs), there will be a major safety improvement at the exit entrance of Westfield, North Mount Druitt, where a pedestrian walk way will be implemented in due time, on the eastern side of the traffic lights, appoved by NSW Roads and Maritime Services. 

This in itself, is a big win for the community, the community that jay walks across and doesn't understand the danger they have placed themselves into.This hasn't happened since the traffic lights were installed decades ago.

Now it is up to  to make a submission as all costings has been provided and they need to  seek funding as Luxford Road is a State Road.

Polling Booths Around Mount Druitt On 28th March 2015 - Conversations and People!

As I'd traveled around booth to booth, I found h happy candidates and former NSW State Members. It was a beautiful day to hold a NSW State Election and some booths had voters queuing for periods of time.

We had former NSW State Member for Rooty Hill, Mr. Richard Amery at Rooty Public School. Rumors were that Edmond Atalla, Labor Posters placed over 2 two Olivia Lloyd, Liberal Posters (without asking her Polling Staff),  because the Liberals had 'Prime Position' for the posters on the fence first and the Labor party wasn't happy with that and wanted an enquiry table under the questionable sign. I must admit it looked 'unprofessional' but that is the kind of things that happen on 'polling day'! I must admit Mr Amery appeared like he was running for re-election - he was well dressed!

The was queuing at Polling Booths and this occurs at times when the Polling Booth Staff take morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks as explained by Mr. Richard Amery. The queues reached outside the gate, some people could not wait and said they would come back, they had to be back by 6pm, otherwise there is that $55.00 fine for not voting.


Then there was Candidate Olivia Lloyd, Liberal candidate for Mount Druitt with Ward 4 Councillor Isabelle White at Minchinbury Public School. It was amazing the young person handing for 'No Land Tax' said she would be voting 'Liberal' - probably just helping out someone else.
 
At a different Polling Booth, former NSW State Member for Londonderry, Allan Shearan (in the background) was handing out for Councillor Edmond Atalla, Labor candidate for Mount Druitt (now elected) - not assisting Londonderry State seat - that is politics!

It's funny, when you hear rumors that a when the Labor Party see good Liberal supporters, they try to coax them in joining the Labor Party.  With the Party machine the Labor Party has, you would not think it needs more members. 

The Labor Party machine had former Federal Member for Chifley Roger Price and his son, Ben Price as scrutineers at Colyton Public School.

It's also funny, no one has coaxed myself to join any party and yet I won't. I have handed out for 2 different parties before and current, but like everyone else, I share positive views on behalf of the community and what I vote, I reserve my right! What I will say is I was a scrutineer at Dean Park and I enjoyed it -  other
scrutineers were very polite and respectable!

Rooty Hill Train Station - Lifts Upgrade The Political Field

One major political issue that came out from the Community Forum on 'Meet The Candidates for State Seat of Mount Druitt' , held on the 5th March 2015, by the Mount Druitt- St Marys Standard on the public transport in relation to all candidates is the
Rooty Hill train station upgrade of Lifts. There was a 100% passion for this improvement from the candidates of all Parties: Liberals,  Labor, Greens and Christian Democrats. Maybe Australian Government could have taken notice to a universal decision at the forum.

A lot of people, who know myself know that if something  is wanted and needed by all, I will study, research history public  to be self-educated and I am not scared  to publicise, to our local community and the wider world a better understanding of how and where we are on the political field, on this issue.

The important fact here is the second last paragraph, 'I am advised that Doonside Station is not presently considered a priority for an Easy Access upgrade. Blacktown and Mount Druitt stations are accessible stations on the Western line in close proximity to Doonside.'

In between Blacktown and Mount Druitt train stations there is 'Rooty Hill' and my gut feeling if Mr. Richard Amery. NSW Member of Mount Druitt did get a letter of response for the lifts upgrade at Rooty with the then Minister, my strong guess is the same paragraph would be used but the first suburb mentioned would be Rooty Hill and the last one Mount Druitt. That is, if he wrote to him then.

We also had Federal Member for Chifley, Mr. Ed Husic who has  been backing State Members of Mount Druitt and Blacktown and their constituents for upgrade of lifts at Doonside and Rooty Hill train station, an online poll. So far 35 agree to it:

Now, this is from information researched and provided to myself from politicians. If there has been some advocating by Richard Amery, before 20th December 2011, he may have been doing from his heart but I just could not find it in my research. Maybe Mr. Amery can point myself in the right direction, before he retires.

Part Of Dawson Mall To Be Renamed To 'Amery Square' And A New Image Of Being Colourful!

We, as community members of Mount Druitt and wider community elect Councillors, to Blacktown City Council, Ward  4 & 5, Federal Member of Chifley and NSW State member of Parliament. Not everyone wants to place their own hand up, stand up for the local community, take part in voting for major changes with NSW for better and mostly great improvements and finally take a NSW Ministerial Portfolio making policies for State improvement. Then in your last term of office, be the longest serving colleague in your team 'to wave the flag' and rebuild in opposition.

Okay, who am I talking about? Mr. Richard Amery, current Honorary State Member for Mount Druitt and retiring on 27th March 2015. We normally honor legends with naming a place of interest, street or suburb after them.

Parramatta City Council Colourful covers!

In my opinion, Mr. Amery should have the centre part of Dawson Mall  named after him as 'Amery Square'. This would be where concerts and festivals are held. It is our way of saying, 'Thank you for being our State Member for 24 years.'

At the same time, colour could be added to the area, similar to Parramatta covers provided in their public Mall. This I would let Council decide on!

Again on behalf of the community, 'Thank you!'

Facelift Happening At Mount Druitt Train Station Concourse!

Although, Mount Druitt Concourse and walk way is getting a facelift with fresh painting ( Maybe because there is a NSW State Election around the corner), it is a step towards the right direction of an upgrade and expansion, that is required.

A lot of places within Mount Druitt  require a facelift or upgrade, but not so more as Mount Druitt train station. Maybe, the new member for Mount Druitt, if it be Councillor Edmond Atalla, might carry the Mount Druitt train station expansion and upgrade flag and if this is so, we can do it together, if elected as NSW State Member for Mount Druitt, next year.


We understand that the upgrade work will continue early next year, the probable  reason is pending on weather conditions and if there are further extensions of improvements/upgrade.

What do you think should, should there be further extensions/upgrades at Mount Druitt train station. This is probably due to the current member of Mount Druitt's lobbying to the NSW Government, Mr. Richard Amery. If it is, we 'Thank him so much'!

NSW Parliament - Mount Druitt Loses A Great Local Man - Mr. Richard Amery, Member for Mount Druitt Retires Next Year!

After 31 years in NSW Parliament, The Hon. Richard Amery, Member for Mount Druitt, is hanging his NSW Parliamentary shoes.

He is the currently longest serving member of  NSW Parliament and I'm am sure he has had many impacts to constituents of NSW and especially Mount Druitt. Meeting this man quite a few times, I find him an ordinary man like you and me, that always talks with confidence.

What I do understand from here is that local State Members not in ministry may not be aware of bus services being removed but then the Party and NSW Government they represented knew about it. Did they inform local State Members - probably not. An elected member of NSW Parliament is supposed to know everything of NSW Government but it does mostly learn a lot from its own local community.
 
Since  then I have met him within the community, he has compliment blogs published on Save Our Bus Services, Mount Druitt & Surrounding Suburbs and Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc.

I wish Richard a happy retirement life, after he leaves NSW Parliament next year and to his family and I hope I will keep on bumping into him.

As the saying goes, 'I'll take off my hat to him'! Well, because I wear caps, I say to him on behalf of the people of Mount Druitt, 'I'll take off my cap to him!'

There will be a race from the Labor Party ranks - who will take on his seats. I'm sure there are a lot of contenders.
