It appears that some train commuters are confused how the process works with Opal cards, according to a Sydney Trains spokesperson at Mount Druitt Train Station.
A lot of people think, the electronic machines provide a new electronic Opal cards. In fact, they are only for topping up your electronic cards. People have to go to a Opal retail outlet to obtain one and place at least $5.00 on the card.
The sign on the machine is to help commuters understand. Maybe one day, an electronic machine will actually provide the electronic Opal Card supplied.
