If these signs are constantly being replaced, modified, each time there is a couple things Council may be able to do, to ensure reduction of this anti-social behaviour and one day, possibly have it eliminated:
- Provide round the 24 hour clock constant security traveling around the area, checking all of these public signs and reporting to relevant Council Officers - maybe offenders may also be caught!
- Have a competition to the wider community to design and provide to Council, a modern 'Welcome To Dawson Mall Sign' and similar Suburb Signs. This would be a good incentive and there could be valuable collective community thoughts put in as well as Council Officers, then everyone will feel more pride within themselves and our wonderful community
- 'Electronic Notice Board Signs' could be looked at, similar to the ones provided outside of all educational schools, which flash events, other important facts and information of the area! This is just an improvement thought.
At this stage, we ask Blacktown City Council and its officers to address the issue with this sign, as soon as possible and any other signs that are in the area that also require the same attention. Then more people would feel more welcome!
What do you think? Let us know!
