Sydney Trains Transport Sign Has "No Sign" At North Parade, Mount Druitt

As we have new orange, white and black 'Notice Boards' at Mount Druitt Train Station, it is important that they do convey a message. A message that resembles importance and relevant information towards our Mount Druitt Community.

So why would a message be blank on one side and be a map of mount Druitt on the other side. What information is that sending. We recommend the Member for Mount Druitt, Councillor Edmond Atalla, investigate this matter and see what sign, should be on this sign, on North Parade, Mount Druitt, outside the lifts and stairs, through this post.

Who Owns Dawson Mall Notice Boards At Mount Druitt Bus Interchange Resolved!

We rely on street signs, billboards and community notice boards to get us to understand where we are, where we are going and help us get to what we want to do next. On roads, whilst driving, these signs are to keep drivers alert to what is ahead and be kept informed.

Yet, we come to signs or community notice boards that is currently saying nothing. What is the  purpose of having these notice boards with nothing to say? Unsure. The owners of these signs obviously do not check and/or review their own signs and leave looking blank and not looking excellent for the entire community.

Now the story goes deeper, as Pauline community member from Willmot and member of the Mount Druitt Commuters Group  wanted to place a community sign  on a certain notice boards that is on Dawson Mall, near the drop off zone of bus commuters at Mount Druitt bus interchange. Pauline has been running around by foot and phone to get someone/government department to take ownership of the notice: from Blacktown City Council, Mount Druitt Hub - lady Mount Druitt went with her to take photos of the notice, to State Member of Mount Druitt Edmond Atalla's office representative - (who I believe gave great customer service to Pauline), no one could admit who owned it.

I simply went to the sight where the notice boards are and discovered the simple solution to who is the owner who is the owner of these boards. It is information board from Transport for NSW: burnt defaced, graffiti-ed and most of it unreadable.

So we need to refer to Transport for NSW to  their job review Information Board at least every week to ensure that information is clearly visible to the open community to understand: Bus Region 1 map, information on bus stands and complaints/compliments line details and  also give an opportunity for Mount Druitt Commuters Improvement Group Inc. to place their information poster their as well. We will refer to Blacktown City Council transport officers/Councillors and Busways representatives to take this on board and they can review NSW Transport reviewing of these Information Boards.

What I have also noticed along Dawson Mall, Mount Druitt is that there is no defacing of Westfield Mount Druitt signs on the exit/entrance to Dawson Mall. Maybe all relevant stake holders discuss with Westfield Mount Druitt Management, how they ensure their outside advertising signs are kept visible to the open community of Mount Druitt.

Blacktown City Council Replaces Mount Druitt Dawson Mall Sign Efficiently!

We, at times must 'congratulate' Officers of Blacktown City Council for efficiently replacing  public signs that this website. The Mount Druitt  Dawson Mall sign was replaced as quick as possible. The only negative thing relating to this is this costs rate payers more money! So we hope that Council Officers investigate avenues for preventative measures, may be used in ensuring that public signs are not destroyed or even removed.

They may need to consult with the Mount Druitt Police, as a possible measure to maintain public signs in Dawson Mall.

Mount Druitt Community Sign Removed At Dawson Mall, Mount Druitt!

On the 1st day on this month, we reported how community signs needed to be replaced in Dawson Mall, Mount Druitt,  Click here for story . Now the Community sign is missing! So this leaves a few questions open that has come to mind. 

Has someone gone out of their way to pull down and destroy the sign? Also if this is true, are video camera's in the area which Blacktown City Council will request Mount Druitt Police to investigate it or has Blacktown City Council taken down the sign in preparation of replacing the graffiti sign?

Dawson Mall 'Welcome Sign' Needs To Be Replaced! More People Would Feel More Welcome!

Here are 2 sides of the Blacktown City Council, 'Welcome to Dawson Mall' Sign . One side is in a condition that definitely needs to be replaced. If Blacktown City Council, places signs in public places, its officers should have a review process, checking to see what condition they are in and whether they need to be replaced. That way they are not letting the place down and they are keeping up-to-date Mount Druitt community and visitors, with relevant information.

If these signs are constantly being replaced, modified, each time there is a couple things Council may be able to do, to ensure reduction of this anti-social behaviour and one day, possibly have it eliminated:

• Provide round the 24 hour clock constant security traveling around the area, checking all of these public signs and reporting to relevant Council Officers - maybe offenders may also be caught!
• Have a competition to the wider community to design and provide to Council, a modern 'Welcome To Dawson Mall Sign' and similar Suburb Signs. This would be a good incentive and there could be valuable collective community thoughts put in as well as Council Officers, then everyone will feel more pride within themselves and  our wonderful community
• 'Electronic Notice Board Signs' could be looked at, similar to the ones provided outside of all educational schools, which flash events, other important facts and information of the area! This is just an improvement thought.

This is so important information required by especially to visitors in the area,  having proper signage readily available for viewing and consistently reviewed, by Council Officers.

At this stage, we ask Blacktown City Council and its officers to address the issue with this sign, as soon as possible and any other signs that are in the area that also require the same attention. Then more people would feel more welcome!

Mount Druitt Community Notice Boards With No Sign To Tell!

A sign is something that tells someone of something (in words or pictures), especially describing what is in front of you, provide any warnings and could tell you where you and how to get to other places. A sign is never a blank sign. A sign is something you may remember! A sign has to be read. A sign must be understood. A sign can be of any design. There are signs everywhere we walk, drive a car and ride on any form of transport.e

So in Mount Druitt we have Community Signs that are placed for the simple fact of  having a community notice board showing the public within or outside of Mount Druitt, to understand maps and community events and any other sources of information.

Currently we have notice boards that have no notice due to some members of the public that like to destroy notice. They do not how people need notices to prevent being lost and help them get to the right places:

Mount Druitt Sign - Does It Need A New Design?

This is one of a few signs that indicate when cars enter Mount

 Druitt, when they reached Mount Druitt. I find that the sign is rather ordinary (although someone has erased the Blacktown City Council emblem/logo).

We live in an age and area where we have people could redesign this Mount Druitt sign. If any one in the community would like to create and design one, send an e-mail to nsjpas@gmail.com . Explain in  your own words why you made and  created that design. I will then refer Blacktown City Council, to see if they will accept a modern designed creation.
