NSW Candidates For Mount Druitt and Londerry So Far.....Election Day 28th March 2015! Understand The Candidates You are Voting For!

The people of Mount Druitt and Londonderry State Seats will be electing new members to NSW Parliamentary Legislative Assembly on the 28th March 2015

Due to the retirement of Hon. Richard Amery, Labor Party, current State Member of Mount Druitt, the seat is open for a new member to represent the real interests and concerns of Mount Druitt community members (most of it has been published on this very blogspot). Although, this is the main State seat that represents the  majority of population of Mount Druitt voters. This making it all decisions of importance has a greater affect to the heart of Mount Druitt. Major improvements have been made in Mount Druitt in the past and there is many more to come!

With Londonderry, the resignation of Bart Bassett, from the  Liberal Party and staying as an Independent, this opens the doors for a member to represent the real interests and concerns of Mount Druitt community membersLondonderry is a State seat which seems to be designed to filling spaces in between major hubs, in North West of Western Sydney. Current candidates are not representing as Councillors for Blacktown City Councillors, they are Penrith City Councillors. That means they will have a better understanding of the process with Penrith City Council!

The candidates so far for the seats are (alphabetically):

Fighting for our community

As a local Councillor, Prue is fighting for Western Sydney. With the support of local residents, she has led our community’s campaign to stop the Liberals dumping radioactive waste in our area.

A better deal for Western Sydney

Having lived in Western Sydney all her life, Prue has watched as the needs of our area have been ignored. The Liberals are taking our area for granted by slashing services from Mount Druitt and

Nepean Hospitals, reintroducing the M4 toll and cutting funding to our schools and TAFEs. With your support, Prue can take up the fight for a better deal for our community.

Standing up for us

As a local Blacktown City Councillor, Edmond has a strong record of standing up for our community, including:

  • Fighting the Liberal’s closure of Mount Druitt Pool;
  • Stopping the sell-off of local childcare centres and parks;
  • Saving the pensioner discount for Council rates; and
  • Fighting to save resident’s homes from being acquired.
A fair go for Mount Druitt
The Liberals are taking Western Sydney for granted. They have closed the cardiac ward at Mount Druitt Hospital, slashed funding from schools and TAFE and ignored the need for lifts at Rooty Hill Train Station. With your support, Edmond will fight for a better deal for Mount Druitt.

Each candidate so far has been asked to tell the communities of Mount Druitt, 'whyilovemountdruitt'? I have sent emails or facebook messages to them, waiting their important responses!

When we receive responses from any of the candidates, we will publish them immediately. The more we keep the community informed, the more people will not cast an 'informal vote', because they don't know candidates or they are not interested in voting for candidates!

My personal opinion, we need to have Electorates that properly reflect the Mount Druitt Community. Such as a North Mount Druitt Electorate and a South Mount Druitt Electorate!  What do you think, any thoughts on any candidates so far?
