Methven St, Mount Druitt, Do You Want A Bus Service?

If you don't know who I am and what I have done in the past, then I will tell you that I have been a community activist advocate for public transport for over 4 and half years. In doing this, I only lead a wonderful group of community people, who needed someone to stand up for something that vitally grabbed/stolen away from  a community that had a gigantic negative affect idin doing so.

So what was it that was taken away.......it was 3 bus services that picked up and took people to their daily destinations that were removed. One vital bus covered and traveled from Mount Druitt, Whalan, Tregear, Emerton, Blackett, Lethbridge Park, Shalvey, onto Plumpton and then onto Blacktown via Dean Park.  This bus service was replaced by 3 different bus services.  Which made it easier for bus companies to run more bus services but less longer route and more interchange services. We have received returned bus services and you can check these stories on Save Bus Our Bus Services, Mount Druitt & Surrounding Suburbs  and

So now,  why have I mentioned the history as why I am  publishing this bog, it is simple. I spoke to a Mount Druitt community member
called 'Rita' the other night and she asked  why don't we have a service in Methven Street Mount Druitt North?

Not known to her was my local history in public transport, so explained to her that she is talking to the right person. I mentioned to her that most community members walk to Mount Druitt shops, there may be a lot of people that drive cars and it would be difficult to run a bus service. The reason being, there are four street entrances to enter the blocks of properties and communities in North Mount Druitt. They are (you will see by map below):

  1. West of O'Brien Street
  2. West of Methven Street
  3. East of Hythe Street
  4. North of Moorehead Road

One possibility is having a loop bus service similar to the
Busways 739V bus service.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? LET US KNOW!
