Repairs Still Required After Storm Damage Nearly 6 Months Ago - 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Group

When you are a private house owner and you have household insurance to cover and repairs and damage to your own property and claims will be processed within a reasonable amount of time. When you are living in a NSW Housing house and  your insurance is the NSW Housing the application takes time and there maybe no follow up to see if jobs are completed within a reasonable amount of time. I do feel for Ron from our Face Book Group and others that have the same or similar issues to attend with, with NSW Housing.

I know of another matter that I have raised with NSW Housing and then haven't attended for almost 6 years - on another community members property. and as it is an non-urgent matter - I have let go and given up as it would be up to the tenant to take up from now.

Should NSW Housing not provide urgent attention to our NSW Housing tenants. I disagree. Each tenant is a customer and should be  respected as an important customer. I do hope that the Member for Londonderry Prue Car can assist Ron from here on in. Here is the post from our Face Book Page:

March 25th this year . Some of the damage caused by the fallen tree. Here we are August 4 , with a few short visits from contractors we are still in the dark as to if and when our roof will be done. Sydney`s August winds are to be expected. Unsecured roofing materials that could become airborne with little effort and having the potential to decapitate some unfortunate sole. I prey the extreme happens not or the one in authority is willing accept the blame should it happen .

Removal of Fallen Tree on Shennan Walkway - Response Blacktown City Council

We have had an instant response from Blacktown City Council officers, in reference to a left over bent over  tree branch that would have been affecting pedestrians, after a storm occurred within our area. This happened on the top of Shennan Walkway, Mount Druitt.

A letter of response From Blacktown City Council, can be viewed here

I suppose the question, now asked is does the tree get replaced or  will there be no more trees there. What do you think should happen, as community members.

Whalan Walkway A Hazard To Community Members 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Group

Ron, a member of our Face Book Group, is showing pictures of a fallen tree across a  walkway that id frequently used in Whalan. We thank Ron, for providing these photo update and we hope that Blacktown City Council and/or Emergency Services,  fix this fallen tree and provide clearance on this walkway as soon as possible.
The part of the walk way that worries me most for those who pass. The walk way goes from Kurama crescent to Belmore avenue. Should some one pass under that tree when it completely falls. A fatality will happen. The danger has been reported to both housing and S E S.

After The Storm - Left Branch Debris Left To Burn - Shennan walkway, North Mount Druitt

After the Mount Druitt Storm that occurred on 14th January 2016, left a lot of mess with trees felled, branches laying everywhere, power lines down and some houses destroyed by fallen trees.

A majority of the clean up has been completed, yet we have  some branch debris that has been left behind and aside at Shennan Walkway, North Mount Druitt leaving open opportunities (unfortunately) for possible burning of branches by arsonists, which has happened!

We now need these branches cleaned up as soon as possible, to prevent further burning of branches by arsonists and hope that Blacktown City Council Officers act on this immediately!

Do you have any debris in your community left over from the storm in January 2016 and have you contacted Council to assist? If not send your photos, location of the site and provide your name and suburb. Then email to  nsjpas@gmail.com.

Westfield Mount Druitt Face Book Group Has No Information On Storm Damages of 14/1/2016

Image result for westfield mount druitt
I have placed a post on Westfield Mount Druitt Face Book Group asking them why they have not used this social media to explain to the community about damages by storm in Mount Druitt and what precautions, preventative measures have been undertaken to ensure health and safety of local shoppers.

They seem to promote items for sale on 14-15th January 2016 but not one word provide to the community using this high tech way of communicating. If there is any response from them, we will let you know!

This is what I asked, "Just wondering on your face book group, why there was no mention of the storm damages and what's been done to fix the leaking roofs all over Westfield Mount Druitt. There was plenty of promotional adds placed on on 14th January 2016 and no mention of this to the Mount Druitt community via face book - one of the best ways to advise situation"

Mount Druitt Standard - Mount Druitt Storm/ Accessible Buses Artciles!

It is that is not many times that I get mentioned in the local papers on 2 different articles. Page 2 and 3 of the Mount Druitt - St Marys Standard have 2 articles where I have been quoted on local events and issues. Although one of them is my passion to have more accessible buses compared to other bus regions the other was  overall instant shock and response to what has happening around the community in a short period  of time in relation to recent storm.

Anything thing that is required  by the local press for myself to respond, reply and quote, is not to promote myself but to promote and benefit Mount Druitt, for its needed services and infrastructure. Mount Druitt is in my heart and I am sure I am like many people in our area - ambassadors of our local community as well as a true advocate for our area.
