Smokers Be Aware Of Community Smoking Issues At Petrol Stations - 'whyilovemountdruitt' Face Book Page
Here is a first post from Peter, from our Face Book Group. This is a serious warning or smokers who want to light up at any Petrol Stations:
Only in mount druitt.
Soooooo we pulled up to get petrol at the servo.
As I was walking towards the door I noticed a couple of cops watching a woman smoking a cigarette while fueling up. I saw her and thought, "what an idiot".
Anyway, I went inside and paid for my petrol. As I was checking out I heard someone screaming, I ran outside to see the woman with her arm on fire! She was waving her arm around like crazy trying to put the fire out when the two cops pushed her to the ground and got it out. When they were done they handcuffed her and started loading her into the police car. Being the (nosey) concerned citizen that I am, I asked them what they were arresting her for, (figuring that catching her arm on fire would be punishment enough for smoking) .
One of the cops looked me dead in the eyes and said, "We're arresting her for waving a firearm".

These Are The Anti-Smoking Signs We Need To See At Mount Druitt Bus Interchange!
To provide a more healthier community, also more savings for more people or the savings could even be on better chosen qualities of life, these signs seen at Westfield Parramatta, could be seen as posters all around the Mount Druitt Bus Interchange.
I also hope Westfield Mount Druitt management advertise these signs in their complex as well.
I see too many people having a smoke, lit one up within Mount Druitt and I as former smoker now non-smoker, I have seen the life benefits after stopping to smoke 25 years ago. I tried every possible way of quitting, at the end I chose a date and strictly to go cold turkey. There is no regret, in fact I am trying to convert others to do the same. Whether people listen I don't know!
Here's is a quote from a quitter from I can Quit, NSW Cancer Council, 'would you believe a thirty year smoking habit has cost over 100.000 dollars'.
What would you do with $100,000? I know what I would do and I'm sure you know as well what you would Do with $100,000.
We therefore ask Blacktown City Council, to act with haste in relation to placing these signs or similar signs with support from NSW Health and place the posters on the glass panels at Mount Druitt Bus Interchange, bus stands.

I'm A "Smoker Moaner" - A Great Comment! - I Actually Feel Like A Non-Smoker Promoter All around Mount Druitt!
In my life I have been called many nicknames and one or two was offensive and in today's world in not offensive. It was just the way I heard it was being said.
The names I can recall I have named are, 'Sibo' (unable to pronounce my last name Svoboda), 'Slob cake' (based on a cake my mother used to bake for friends when I was in a scout troop and finally, 'WOG'!
Now the younger people of today may not know what it means today and it is not as bad as it sounds. The meaning is, 'Western Oriental Gentleman'! That wasn't so bad. When I first heard of it, I thought it related to being Asian because it was using the word 'Oriental'.
Because I was repeatedly bullied at school and one day bashed for being a 'wog', I had to leave the high school I was at after first term of year seven. My parents were involved, the PRincipAL of the school according to my parents was not supportive or wanted the matter investigated and that was it. My life changed because of one word.
Just overnight, I have received a comment from a community member that I am a 'Smoker Moaner' and because of that they won't visit this website again. At first it reminded me of being called, "WOG", but then I thought at least the reader is pas sion ate of smoking, sticks up for smokers until one day he/she may have to quit. I think it is good now to be a "Smoker Moaner", yet I would change the name to "Non-Smoker Promoter", which represents a cleaner & healthier life and finally less stress for.
I can not and will not tell people to stop smoking, I can only ensure that measures and checks are put into place to ensure that there is no smoking in designated public areas.
As we are looking to have an improved community within and around Mount Druitt, we are all seeking ways to make it cleaner, safer and healthier for all of us to live in. Further more, we want to see a brighter and all facilities improved, if we do not ask we do not get.
I hope one day, the commenter if and when gives up smoking, returns back to this website!

More Smokers At Westfield Mount Druitt
Smokers still caught outside of Westfields Mount Druitt, causing health havoc to the local community, creating passive smokers.
We seem to be falling on deaf ears at the management of Westfield's Mount Druitt. They then turn a blind eye and allow people to smoke within their boundaries. This issue will be raised, time and time again, until direct action is taken. Shoppers need to breathe clean air around, all public areas and fines should be imposed.
I now think that Non-smoking signs should be place in all open spaces outside of Westfield Mount Druitt shops, within their compound. Let's see how Westfield management respond through Blacktown City Council and see if Blacktown City Council can involve NSW Health to eliminate this critical health issue!
