Relay For Life - Funding To Fight Cancer - At Rooty Hill - Any Voluteers?

Cancer Council is always seeking funding to beat this killing disease, which a lot of us may know about by now. You may have heard or known someone  close to you, that has had Cancer and possibly died or have just been notified.

Relay For Life - is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services. Relay is a chance for the Rooty Hill community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.

Join the thousands of Australians who take part in Cancer Council’s Relay For Life each year in the fight against cancer: start or join a team in the Blacktown Relay today!

The event is overnight from 31st October - 1st November 2015 at Rooty, I was wondering if we could rally Blacktown City Councillors, from Ward 4 and 5,State Member of Druitt and Federal Member of Chifley as well as any Mount Druitt community memers to join or start a 'New Mount Druitt Relay Team' or maybe there could be more teams from Mount Druitt.

The benefits to the community are the following:

 Your donations at work
  •  $5 can help us give a newly-diagnosed cancer patient important support and information resources to help them through their cancer journey.
  • $10 can help offer free exercise programs that assist cancer patients in building strength and fitness during and after treatment.
  • $25 can help transport cancer patients to and from hospital for treatment.
  • $50 can help the Cancer Council 13 11 20 provide free and confidential information and support on all aspects of cancer.
  • $100 can help provide free accommodation for cancer patients, their families and carers during treatment.
  • $500 can help pay an overdue electricity, phone, gas or rates bill for a cancer patient who has not been able to work.
  • $5000 can help fund ground-breaking research into new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
*Services may vary between States/Territories

These Are The Anti-Smoking Signs We Need To See At Mount Druitt Bus Interchange!

To provide a more healthier community, also more savings for more people or the savings could even be on better chosen qualities of life, these signs seen at Westfield Parramatta, could be seen as posters all around the Mount Druitt Bus Interchange.

I also hope Westfield Mount Druitt management advertise these signs in their complex as well.

I see too many people having a smoke, lit one up within Mount Druitt and I as former smoker now non-smoker, I have seen the life benefits after stopping to smoke 25 years ago. I tried every possible way of quitting, at the end I chose a date and strictly to go cold turkey. There is no regret, in fact I am trying to convert others to do the same. Whether people listen I don't know!

Here's is a quote from a quitter from I can Quit, NSW Cancer Council, 'would you believe a thirty year smoking habit has cost over 100.000 dollars'.

What would you do with $100,000? I know what I would do and I'm sure you know as well what you would Do with $100,000.

We therefore ask Blacktown City Council, to act with haste in relation to placing these signs or similar signs  with support from NSW Health and place the posters on the glass panels at Mount Druitt Bus Interchange, bus stands.
