Holy Family Parish Pastoral Council Multicultural Expo 12th November 2016- A World Of It's Own Success
Last Saturday, Holy Family in Mount Druitt at 254 Luxford Rod Emerton held a Multicultural Event, open to the public with Parish groups exhibits, food stalls and brig-a-bracs, last Saturday.
Although expectations were approximately 54 Stalls, were to be present, a strong 23 stalls turned up, inclusive of amusements for children and family: dodgem cars, mini Ferris wheel, jumping castles and luck ticket prizes.
The morning started with early storm and that made a lot of stall holders pull out. Then that gave the other 23 stall holders, a chance to get prime spots in the car park, as they setting up in drizzle rain, praying for the glorious sun to rise and stay put during the day. Luck went everyone's way, the sun was well established at 9am and the day seemed set to be successful.
As the event started officially at 10am, the day was so successful, a first time event for the new Parish Pastoral Council. The community that came in to buy at stalls and amusements, sit down and listen to entertainments got their days worth.
There was ample food, ample raffles and ample prizes. There was ample music supplied by DJ and multicultural dancers. There was announcements of stall after stall happy to sell their food: clothes and many other items.
The prizes started to go off at the chocolate wheel, the community watched all the various performers: Togan, Togan Sunday School, Samoan, Cook Islands and the 'Youth of Christ" band and more.
By the end of the day, the Parish had raised $9,222.00, since that time we have raised over $10,000. Praise goes to many people that came on that day; the community of Mount Druitt, the Parish of Holy Family, the stall holders and amusement ride providers, the St John's Ambulance Officers, Councillor Brad Bunting (Ward 5) with Blacktown City Council's donation of a stage and 2 Port-a-loo's, Ray the Parish caretaker and the entire Parish Pastoral Council who volunteered their service to help their Parish Community have a great day.
And Finally........ God. 'Thank God, for a great day."

These Are The Churches That Provided The Free Lunch To The Community On Christmas Day!
I always like to learn about events that I don't know about and become more locally educated, don't you! So, I made inquiries of which churches within Mount Druitt have donated their time and effort in assisting the community with free lunch during Christmas Day and I was intrigued of what I learned.
Every day, we through the media and internet we learn about worldly things but when it come to local, most of us want to limit ourselves to what we know.
So this year was their 11th year in providing the free food to the community, the local churches that have providing this wonderful service to the community are:

So It Was The Wrong Bus on Sunday Morning At Mount Druitt Bus Interchange!
Response From Busways on 755/758 route number issue Click here for previous blog :
Can
you tell myself, that with all new technologies when a bus is show the
route number 755 - is that route number on NSW Transport/Busways
computers as tagged as 755 on their screen and a representative from NSW
Transport/Busways monitors this and is double checking that correct
buses are going on correct routes. If not, may I suggest this happens
from now, please to prevent further and future commuter confusion and
being upset.
What other preventative measures will you put in place to prevent this from happening again?

Busways Change Of Route Number Made A Few Commuters 'Unhappy" At Mount Druitt!
On Sundays, I have to walk to Mount Druitt bus interchange and then I only can catch the 8.42am* Busways 755, to make it close to "Holy Family Catholic Church", Emerton.
Sometimes I'm late and miss the bus, very rarely has the bus not turned up. Yesterday, there were 2 commuters waiting with myself on bus stand 5 and approximately 8.42am, a Busways bus numbered 758, turned up for 'Shalvey'. Ignored it and let it go. Then another Busways 758 turned up about 3 minutes later and when the three of us approached this bus driver and asked about the other bus three minutes before. He knew nothing about it, couldn't help us but suggested the previous driver, could have placed the wrong bus route number on the bus.
I was boiling up inside of myself but kept calm as I walked to catch the Busways 780 bus, which made myself run to church late. The other two 755 commuters also took the 780 bus as well. Not to mention that I was on roster to reading at mass that day, but wasn't able to. I immediately ran 131500 not to raise a complaint but to ask for feedback.
Here is my report number from Busways, not NSW Transport via email:

*8.42am - this is the earliest that I can get the 755 Busways bus as there is no earlier scheduled bus routes to get in the morning. Something that I have lobbied on for the last 6 years, so far falling on deaf ears!
