'Pick, REaD and Swap' Box Now Available

I am pleased to partner with Blacktown Area Community Centres and their Paint Mt Druitt REaD program and host a mobile library in my office. Paint Mt Druitt REaD is an early literacy program aimed at improving outcomes for children from birth to 5 years old.  By reading, singing and rhyming, looking and listening, talking and drawing and writing with a child every day from birth we can improve a child’s outcome.

Rooby Roo, the reading kangaroo, dropped by my office with one of her helpers and donated some great books. Now when you visit my office, children can read a book while they are waiting or can take a book home, return it and swap it for another one. Interested in donating books or getting more information? Justice of the Peace Applications Now Online

All prospective and current Justices of the Peace should now be aware that applications for appointments and reappointments are now open again and are managed online.

This online system is aimed to reduce paperwork and delays, and allows applicants to apply online as well as conduct identification checks and declarations.

Prospective applicants should note that all applicants will now need to successfully complete the ‘JP Knowledge Test’, which will be the first step in the application process. This test will focus on the roles and responsibilities of a JP and is designed to make sure you understand how to perform JP functions correctly. This information can be found within the JP Handbook.

Any JP’s or applicants experiencing issues should contact the JP Infoline on (02) 8688 7487 (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday AEST) or via the website http://www.jp.nsw.gov.au/.

Community Updates

Through this newsletter, I am able to advertise many of the wonderful activities that take place in the Mount Druitt Electorate. If you are aware of anything in the community that you would like advertised, please let my office know and I can promote them through my Facebook page and in the next edition of the Mount Druitt Gazette.

What's Happening on Macquarie Street?

On the 7th of May 2019 I was sworn into the 57th Parliament of NSW. If you have a state issue you would like me to raise on your behalf. Please contact my office on 02 9625 6770 or via email at mountdruitt@parliament.nsw.gov.au. It is important to me that I raise concerns held by members of my Electorate in my fight for Western Sydney.
