Calling all green thumbs: Blacktown City Council is on the look-out for the city’s best gardens.
Entries open on 1st August for the 2017 Blacktown City Garden Competition across 22 categories, including champion garden, best front garden, best community garden and best primary school garden.
Last year, the Blacktown City Garden Competition attracted 61 entries, including
41 individual entries and 20 entries in the community, school and commercial categories.
Preliminary judging will take place between 11 September and 29 September.
Entrants will be assessed on criteria including design, use of materials, plant selection and sustainability.
“I encourage all residents to show off their gardening skills”, Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Stephen Bali said.
“The Blacktown City Annual Garden Competition is an opportunity for households, schools, community groups and businesses to showcase the pride and joy they have for their gardens.”
Applications close 5.30pm, Friday, 8 September 2017.
